Designation of Matamata Community Arts Council

PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Northern Regional Arts Council and on the application of the Matamata Community Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates the Matamata Community Arts Council to be the Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area:
The area enclosed by a line from McLaren Road South following Diagonal Road, Pakarau Road, Hutchinsons Road (south of Walton) to join the Loop Road, Link Road, then to Piakonui East to include Te Tapui Forest, and via Mathieson Road to join Highway 1 at the southern end of Lake Karapiro to include Tirau to Tapapa, and to follow the natural boundaries on the eastern side at the foot of the Kaimais.

Designation of South Waikato Community Arts Council

PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Northern Regional Arts Council and on the application of the South Waikato Community Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates the South Waikato Community Arts Council to be the Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area:
That area enclosed by a line to follow south down the Waikato River from the southern end of Lake Karapiro to Lake Waipapa and the eastern boundary of the Rangitoto Range to include Ranginui, the Whakaumaru Rural District, and then via the Forest Product Road north to include Te Whetu and Ngatira and branching south of Tirau to the southern end of Lake Karapiro.

PURSUANT to section 32 (i) of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand Act 1974, on the recommendation of the Northern Regional Arts Council and on the application of the Taumarunui Community Arts Council, the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council of New Zealand hereby designates the Taumarunui Council to be the Community Arts Council for the following duly defined area:
Taumarunui Borough and Taumarunui County.

Special Order Made by Taumarunui County Council Altering Riding Boundaries and Adjusting Representation

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Local Government hereby publishes the following Special Order made by the Taumarunui County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, and amendments thereto, the Taumarunui County Council resolves by way of Special Order as follows.

(a) The present division of the county into four ridings is revoked and in lieu thereof the said county is divided into five ridings to be called respectively North, East, South, West, and Omori which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

(b) The said County Council shall consist of twelve members who shall be elected as follows:

  1. Three members from each of the North, South, and East Ridings.
  2. Two members from the West Riding.
  3. One member from Omori Riding.

(c) The alteration hereby made shall take effect from the day of the General Election being 8th October 1977 except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary in providing for that Election.

SCHEDULE

NORTH RIDING

ALL that area in the Taranaki and South Auckland Land Districts, Taumarunui County, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the said county as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1967, page 1869, being the intersection of the confiscation line with the middle of the Waitaanga Stream in Block VII, Waro Survey District, and proceeding generally westerly, northerly, and north-easterly along the said county boundary to the eastern boundary of Waihaha 3A Block, situated in Block XII, Hurakia Survey District; thence generally south-easterly and northerly along the said boundary, the south-eastern boundaries of the said 3A and Waihaha 2 and part I Blocks and the generally western boundaries of the said part I and the western boundary of Rangitoto Tuhua 21A Block to the southern boundary of Section 3, Block I, Puketapu Survey District; thence generally westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 3 and Section 8, Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, the end of a public road and the generally southern boundaries of Sections 11, 10, and 9 of the said Block IV; thence northerly along that boundary to the southern side of a public road; thence generally north-westerly along that side to the north-western boundary of Section 3 of the said Block IV; thence generally north-westerly along the said boundary and the northern boundary of that section to and along the south-western and western boundaries of Lot 6, D.P. 14777, to a point in line with the southern boundary of Rangitoto Tuhua 76B5 Block; thence generally westerly along that boundary and the generally southern boundaries of Rangitoto Tuhua 76B8B2E and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of
