Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

PURSUANT to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Maori reservation, as an ancient burial ground, for the common use and benefit of the peoples of Rangitihi subtribe of Arawa.

ALL that piece of land, situated in Block XV, Maketu Survey District, and described as follows:

Election of Grower Representative on the New Zealand Potato Board

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Potato Growing Industry Act 1950, and under the provisions of the Potato Board Election Regulations 1951, notice is hereby given that the roll of growers in the Central ward who are entitled to vote for a grower member on the board will open for public inspection during ordinary office hours for a period of 7 days from the 17th day of August 1977, at the head office of the board, Wellington; at the board’s office, 59 Mandeville Street, Christchurch; and at the office of the Central ward committee, 8 Armagh Court, 78 Armagh Street, Christchurch.

Nomination forms may be had on application to any of the above offices, or from the Returning Officer, P.O. Box 11–125, Wellington.

Nominations must be in the hands of the Returning Officer by not later than noon on the 7th day of September 1977.

PURSUANT to clause 20 of the Second Schedule to the Raspberry Marketing Regulations 1976, notice is hereby given that as only two persons were duly nominated in the northern ward for election to the office of producers’ representatives on the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee, I do declare

being the persons so nominated, to be duly elected as producers’ representatives in respect of the northern ward.

Commerce Act 1975: Notice of Consent by Commerce Commission to a Merger or Takeover Proposal

PURSUANT to section 75 (6) (a) of the Commerce Act 1975, the Commerce Commission hereby gives its consent to the takeover proposal that L. D. Nathan and Co. Limited and Ballins Industries Limited each acquire from Corbans Holdings Limited 25 percent of the capital of A. A. Corban and Sons Limited.

Notice of Acquisition of Public Reserve by the Crown

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, has been acquired as a reserve for recreation purposes, subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY ALLOTMENT 12, Section 13, Town of Russell, situated in Block I, Russell Survey District: area, 6.0395 hectares, more or less. All certificate of title, No. 1056/17, of the North Auckland Land Registry (S.O. Plan 50794).

Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for Certain Vehicles

THE notices, dated the 27th day of November 1967*, and the 13th day of September 1971†, giving approval for the fitting of one revolving amber light on each of the vehicles specified therein, made pursuant to regulation 39 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, are hereby revoked.

Exemption of Certain Motor Vehicles from the Height Restriction for Rearward-Facing Side Lamps; Stop Lamps, Rear Reflectors and Rear Direction-Indicator Lamps.

PURSUANT to regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts motor vehicles of the type specified in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of regulations 60 (2) (a), 61 (2) (a), 62 (2), and 63 (2) (a) which limit the height that a rearward-facing side lamp, stop lamp, rear reflector, and direction-indicator lamp may be mounted above the ground; provided that this equipment is fitted as close as practicable to the ground.

SCHEDULE

ANY motor vehicle, whenever first registered, which is fitted with a combined hopper and spreader, exclusively designed and used for the cartage and spreading of lime and fertilizer, only while this equipment is attached to the motor vehicle.

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities, mentioned in the Schedule hereto, of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
