LOCAL GOVERNMENT COMMISSION
WANGANUI REGION: PROVISIONAL SCHEME

THE Local Government Commission has prepared a provisional scheme constituting the Wanganui Region. Copies of the provisional scheme and an explanatory statement are available for inspection at this office and the offices of the following local authorities: Wanganui City Council, Wanganui County Council, Waitotara County Council, Wanganui; Marton Borough Council, Rangitikei County Council, Marton; Raetihi Borough Council, Waimarino County Council, Raetihi; Ohakune Borough Council, Ohakune; Taihape Borough Council, Taihape. Copies of the scheme can be purchased from the Government Bookshop.

Any person or body interested has a right of objection to the provisional scheme and may give notice in writing to the commission of the objection and of the grounds of that objection on or before 12 October 1977.

The commission’s office is situated on the Second Floor, Law Society Building, 26-28 Waring Taylor Street, Wellington, and the commission’s postal address is Private Bag, Wellington.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT pursuant to section 53 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1953, the Pukekohe Borough Council hereby resolves by way of special order to increase the number of councillors exclusive of the Mayor to nine with effect from the tri-ennial elections to be held on 8 October 1977.
