(c) For money borrowed for a period of 3, 4, or 5 years 10.25 percent per annum; and
(d) For money borrowed for any period of 6 years or more 10.5 percent per annum.

3. No money to be repaid by equal aggregate yearly or half-yearly instalments of principal and interest shall be borrowed for a term of less than 6 years.

4. No money to be repaid out of a sinking fund shall be borrowed for a term of less than 6 years, provided that a portion of such money, not exceeding 40 percent thereof, may be borrowed for terms of either 3 and/or 4 and/or 5 years.

5. The general determination made by the Board and published in the Gazette, on the 12th day of August 1976, at page 1882, and the general determination made by the board and published in the Gazette, on the 20th day of May 1976, at page 1135, are hereby consequently cancelled.

6. All sanctions to which this general determination applies shall be varied accordingly.

Local Authorities Loans Act 1956—General Variation of Conditions of Borrowing

PURSUANT to section 9 (4A) of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as inserted by section 4 (3) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), notice is hereby given that the Local Authorities Loans Board, acting with approval of the Minister of Finance, has determined as follows:

1. This general determination shall apply to all money, which any local authority has received the sanction of the board, given before the date of this notice, to borrow by way of special loan, except:

(a) Money borrowed before the 19th day of February 1976 (which day is hereinafter referred to as “that date”); and

(b) Money borrowed on or after that date for the purposes of completing work already under construction, carrying out work under any contract let, or discharging any legal liability incurred in each case before that date; and

(c) Money borrowed after that date for the purpose of making any payment due in respect of any work or undertaking for which the specific approval of the board has been obtained under clause 2 of this general determination or the corresponding provision of any previous general determination; and

(d) Money borrowed after the 1st day of August 1977 for the purpose of making any payment due in respect of the following works or undertakings, namely:

(i) Water supply, storage or reticulation;
(ii) Sewage treatment or sewerage reticulation;
(iii) Electrical reticulation;
(iv) Hospital works, subject to the approval given after the date of this notice by the Hospital Works Committee and Minister of Health;

(v) Stormwater reticulation or prevention; and
(vi) Natural gas reticulation and installation.

2. No money to which this general determination applies shall be borrowed before the 31st day of March 1978 unless specific approval for such borrowing is first obtained from the board.

3. All sanctions to which this general determination applies shall be varied accordingly.

4. The general determination of the board published in the Gazette, on the 16th day of December 1976, at page 2876, is hereby consequently cancelled.
