“Prepaid” means paid (to an officer authorised by the Board to receive parking fees) before entering a parking place or within 5 minutes after doing so:
“Season” means the winter holiday period:
“Vehicle” has the meaning given to it by section 2 of the National Parks Act 1952:
“Winter holiday period” means the period from 1 June to 31 October in every year or if the Board so resolves any lesser period or periods within the said period.

For the use of any parking place on every day during the winter holiday period the driver of every vehicle shall on the day of such use pay a parking fee to an officer in the manner directed by the Board.

The parking fee payable in respect of every vehicle shall be as follows:
(a) For every passenger-service vehicle as defined in the Transport Act 1962 (except a motorcar as defined in the same act) $2 per day or part of a day for the use of a parking place in the Whakapapa Village or alternatively $20 for the season, and $5 per day or part of a day for the use of any other parking place adjacent to State Highway 48, or alternatively $50 for the season.
(b) For every other vehicle:
(i) $5 per day or part of a day reducible to $1 per day or part of a day in the Board’s discretion if the fee is prepaid, or alternatively;
(ii) $10 for the season. -
(a) Every person paying a daily parking fee of $1 per day or part of a day shall be issued with a wind-screen sticker or other form of receipt.
(b) Every person paying the parking fee of $10 for the season shall be issued with a season ticket which may be used in respect of any vehicle which shall while such season ticket is properly displayed be exempted from payment of any other parking fees during the season in respect of which the season ticket has been issued. -
The windscreen sticker or other form of receipt or season ticket as the case requires shall at all times while the vehicle is in any parking place be displayed so that it is visible from the front of the vehicle and no other proof of the payment of the parking fee shall be acceptable or required.

The driver of any vehicle in a parking place shall park it in such a way that it will not obstruct the egress of any vehicle already parked in the parking place and also in accordance with any directions given by an officer who is present.

The driver of a passenger-service vehicle shall not park the vehicle in any part of the Iwikau or Whakapapa Villages in the Tongariro National Park except in a parking place designated as being for the parking of such vehicles.

For the purposes of the loading and unloading of passengers and goods a vehicle shall be entitled to stop or stand for not longer than 5 minutes in an area in which the parking of vehicles is prohibited but which the Board has designated by signs as a loading area.

On being informed of any breach of these bylaws alleged to have been committed by a driver of a vehicle and on being requested so to do by the Board or an officer whether orally or in writing the owner of that vehicle and also in the case of a vehicle let on hire the person to whom it is let on hire shall within 14 days after the receipt of the request give to the Board all information in his possession or obtainable by him which may lead to the identification of the driver.

Bylaws 9 and 10 of the Tongariro National Park Board Bylaws 1974 are hereby revoked.
The foregoing bylaw was made by resolution of the Board at a meeting held at Mount Ruapehu on 26 November 1976.
