Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Taranaki County) Notice No. 1, 1977.

2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

4. The Traffic (Taranaki County) Notice No. 2, 1973, dated the 5th day of October 1973†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Taranaki County, is hereby revoked.

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

2. The roads and area specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Opotiki County at Opotiki:

All that area contained within a line commencing at a point on the south-western end of Union Street on the bank of the Waioeka River; thence north-easterly and south-easterly generally along the bank of the Waioeka River, Opotiki Harbour, and Otara River bank, to the northern side of No. 35 State Highway (Opotiki to Gisborne via Te Araroa); thence westerly generally along the northern side of the said highway to a point opposite the eastern side of Goring Street; thence across the said highway by a right line from its northern to its southern side; thence easterly generally along the southern side of the said highway to the western bank of Otara River; thence south-easterly generally along the western bank of the Otara River to a point adjacent to the eastern end of Duke Street; thence westerly by a right line along the southern side of Duke Street to the commencing point.

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne): from the south-western end of Forsyth Street at the eastern end of Waioeka River Bridge; to a point 100 metres measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from Hikutaia Road.

Hikutaia Road: from the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to a point 1000 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the said State highway.

Pursuant to regulation 19D (5) of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Transport hereby approves the motor cycle riding school listed in the Schedule hereto to the effect that it may issue certificates of riding instruction to enable a person to obtain a full licence to drive a motor cycle in accordance with regulation 19D of the said regulations:
