Pheasants — 4 June to 18 June 1977 incl.
Chukor — 14 May to 28 August 1977 incl.
Canada goose — 7 May to 30 October 1977 incl.
Canada goose — Midnight 3 February 1978 to 2 April 1978 at midnight incl.

Daily Bag Limits
Grey duck, 25.
Shoveler (or spoonbill), 25.
Mallard duck, 25.
Paradise duck, 5.
Grey, shoveler (or spoonbill), Canada goose, no limit.
Paradise, and mallard duck, 25 in all.

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. During the period 13 June 1977 to 30 October 1977 inclusive, and midnight 3 February 1978 to 2 April 1978 at midnight inclusive, Canada goose may be shot 24 hours per day.

Decoy limit: No limit.

Special Conditions

  1. A licence issued, pursuant to this notification to hunt or kill game, shall entitle the holder thereof to hunt or kill game in the Ashburton and Waitaki Valley Acclimatisation Districts during the period and subject, mutatis mutandis, to the conditions prescribed in this notification fixing an open season for game in those districts.

Shooting hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. except that during the period 13 June 1977 to 30 October 1977 inclusive, and midnight 3 February 1978 to 2 April 1978 at midnight inclusive, Canada goose may be shot 24 hours per day.

Decoy limit: No limit.

Special Conditions
Persons holding valid game shooting licences for the Westland Acclimatisation District may, without taking out a further game licence, shoot in that portion of the Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District included in the Westland Land District.

Paradise duck (only in the Waiau Watershed upstream from the junction of the Waiau and the Orawia Rivers, the whole of the Orawia Watershed, the Oreiti Watershed upstream from the Centre Bush Bridge and the Aparima Watershed upstream from the Wreys Bush Bridge. Also in that portion of the society’s district north of a straight line extending from the Lumsden road-rail bridge to East Dome on the Society’s eastern boundary) — 7 May to 8 May 1977 incl.
Pheasants — 7 May to 31 July 1977 incl.
Chukor (only in that portion of the Southland Acclimatisation District north of the main highway between Gore and Te Anau) — 7 May to 31 July 1977 incl.
Canada goose (only in that portion of the Southland Acclimatisation District north of a direct line commencing at Paddock Hill on the Society’s western boundary, to the summit of Mount Hamilton situated at the eastern end of the Takitimu Mountains, then in a direct line to the Te Anau - Lumsden Highway at Centre Hill Station, then along the Te Anau Lumsden Highway to the road-rail bridge over the Oreiti River near Lumsden, then in a direct line to East Dome on the Society’s eastern boundary) — 7 May to 15 May 1977 incl. and 11 June to 19 June 1977 incl.
