Appointment of Advisory Committee under Section 12 of the Trade and Industry Act 1956 on Safety Regulations with Respect to Children's Nightwear
- Pursuant to section 12 of the Trade and Industry Act 1956 the Minister of Trade and Industry has appointed
John Sidney Clendon, Esquire
solicitor, of Wellington, to be an advisory committee to investigate and report to the Minister of Trade and Industry on appropriate statutory regulations which might be made to ensure that children's nightwear made, sold, or otherwise disposed of in New Zealand, conforms to acceptable safety standards in respect of materials and design. - The committee shall be called the Advisory Committee on Regulations for the Safety of Children's Nightwear.
- In the investigation into the safety of children's nightwear the committee shall:
(a) Invite submissions from any organisation which applies to it for that purpose on behalf of any class or classes of manufacturers, distributors, purchasers, or other classes of persons whose interests, in the committee's opinion, may be directly affected by any proposed safety regulations with respect to children's nightwear;
