No. 16

(a) On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, and not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve), the hour of opening and closing shall be in accordance with its charter.

(b) On every Friday, Saturday, and Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening.

(c) On every New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day.

(d) This order is for 12 months only as from the date the extended hours come into effect.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Canterbury Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A (16) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Gordon Stewart Orr, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Canterbury Licensing Committee on 27 January 1977, made orders authorising variations of the usual hours for the sale of liquor to the public, and further authorised the following hours of trading for the licensed premises known as Grosvenor Tavern, Christchurch:

(a) On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, and not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve), the hour of opening to be as usual 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 10 o'clock in the evening.

(b) On every Friday, Saturday and Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening to 11 o'clock in the evening the said premises shall not be open in respect of that bar known as “the Public Bar”.

(c) On every New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Eve and the hour of closing 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening of New Year's Eve to 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, the said premises shall not be open in respect of the bar known as “the Public Bar”.

(b) On every Christmas Eve (not being a day when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 10 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening.

(c) On every New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 10 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Eve and the hour of closing 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day.

(b) On every Friday, Saturday, and Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening, but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening to 11 o'clock in the evening the said premises shall not be open in respect of the downstairs bar including pool tables.

(c) On every New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Eve and the hour of closing 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening of New Year's Eve to 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, the said premises shall not be open in respect of the downstairs bar including pool tables.
