PURSUANT to section 330 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori Land Board hereby gives notice as follows.

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice, Whangarei 1977, No. 7.

  2. The land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be subject to Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Canterbury Licensing Committee


PURSUANT to section 221A (16) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Gordon Stewart Orr, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Canterbury Licensing Committee on 27 January 1977, made orders authorising variations of the usual hours for the sale of liquor to the public, and further authorised the following hours of trading for the licensed premises known as Imperial Hotel, Christchurch:

(a) On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and on Christmas Eve and on New Year's Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening to be as usual 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 10 o'clock in the evening.

(b) On every Friday and Saturday (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening, but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening to 11 o'clock in the evening the said premises shall not be open in respect of those bars other than those bars known as “the Lounge Bar” and “the Club Bar”.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Canterbury Licensing Committee


PURSUANT to section 221A (16) of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Gordon Stewart Orr, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Canterbury Licensing Committee on 27 January 1977, made orders authorising variations of the usual hours for the sale of liquor to the public, and further authorised the following hours of trading for the licensed premises known as Dominion Hotel, Christchurch:

(a) On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, and not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve), the hour of opening shall be 9 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 8 o'clock in the evening.

(b) On every Friday, Saturday, and Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 9 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 9 o'clock in the evening.

(c) On every New Year's Eve (not being a day when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 9 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 10.30 o'clock in the evening.

(a) On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public and not being Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve), the hour of opening and closing shall be in accordance with its charter.

(b) On every Friday, Saturday, and Christmas Eve (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning and the hour of closing 11 o'clock in the evening, but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening to 11 o'clock in the evening the said premises shall not be open in respect of bars other than that bar known as “the Social Hall”.

(c) On every New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (not being days when licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public) the hour of opening shall be 11 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Eve and the hour of closing 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day, but during the period from 10 o'clock in the evening of New Year's Eve to 0.30 o'clock in the morning of New Year's Day the said premises shall not be open in respect of bars other than that known as “the Social Hall”.
