Boundaries of the County of Otamatea and the Kaiwaka and Mangawhai Ridings Defined

PURSUANT to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Local Government hereby defines, as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the County of Otamatea, these having previously been altered by Order in Council made on 22 July 1974 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 72, of 25 July 1974, p. 1517. The boundaries of the Kaiwaka and Mangawhai Ridings of the County are also hereby defined and these are described in the Second Schedule hereto, having previously been altered by Special Order of the Otamatea County Council and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 117, of 18 November 1976, p. 2615.

FIRST SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF OTAMATEA COUNTY

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District containing 1093 square kilometres, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block XIII, Tangihua Survey District, being the junction of the production north-easterly of the north-western boundary of Allotment 166, Omaru Parish (as shown on S.O. Plan 6023B), with the middle of the Manganoi River, and proceeding southerly and easterly generally up the middle of the Manganoi River, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 276, Tauraroa Parish, in Block II, Matakoe Survey District; then north-easterly along a right line, to and along the said south-eastern boundary and that boundary produced across a public road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotments 277 and S.E. 51, Tauraroa Parish, and the last boundary produced across Steads Road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 63, Tauraroa Parish, and along the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 11290 and Lot 1, D.P. 39674, and the last boundary produced across the North Auckland Railway, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment N.E. 61 and along the end of a public road, to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments S.W. 157, N.E. 157, S.W. 156, N.E. 156, S.W. 155, and N.E. 155, crossing the intervening Oakleigh-Paparoa road, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 198, to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 26076, in Block XVI, Tangihua Survey District; then south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 26076, and that boundary produced across a public road to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 26076, and Allotment N.E. 87, Mareretu Parish, and the last-mentioned boundary produced across a public road, to and south-easterly, southerly, and westerly along the north-eastern, eastern, and southern boundaries of Section 7, Block I, Waipu Survey District, to the junction with the eastern side of the public road forming the western boundaries of the said Section 7; then southerly generally along a right line across a public road, to and along the eastern side of the public road forming the western boundaries of Sections 2, 3, and 6, to the southernmost point of the said Section 6, all the aforesaid sections being of Block I, Waipu Survey District, crossing Section 4, Block I, Waipu Survey District, and Sections 14 and 1, Block IV, Waipu Survey District, and south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 3 and 4 of that Block IV, to and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 9, Block IV aforesaid, to the westernmost corner of Allotment S.W. 116, Wairau Parish; then easterly along the southern boundaries of Allotments S.W. 116, N.E. 116, S.W. 118, and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments N.E. 118, S.W. 120, and N.E. 120, to the westernmost corner of Allotment N.E. 124; then south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the said Allotment N.E. 124, to and northerly generally along the western side of the public road forming the eastern boundaries of Allotments N.E. 124, 125, S.E. 126, and N.W. 126, and along the production of the last-mentioned boundary across a public road, to and south-easterly along the north-eastern side of that public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 136, to a point in line with the eastern boundary of the said Allotment 136; then south-easterly along a right line across the said public road, to and along the eastern boundary of Allotments 136 and 224, and the last boundary produced to the middle of the Ahuroa River, all the aforesaid allotments being of Wairau Parish; then westerly and southerly generally up the middle of the Piroa Stream, to and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Waipu Survey District, to its junction with a public road, then north-easterly along a right line across that public road, to and easterly generally along the southern side of the public road forming the northern boundaries of Sections 3, 3A, 4, and part Section 5, Block X aforesaid, to a point in line with the western boundary of the northern portion of the said part Section 5; then northerly along a right line across the intervening public road, to and northerly and easterly generally along the said western and northern boundaries of that northern part of Section 5 and easterly generally along the northern boundaries of Section 1, Block XI, Waipu Survey District, as shown on S.O. Plan 12069, to and along the northern boundaries of Allotments 541 and part 337A, Waipu Parish, and Section 2, Block XI, Waipu Survey District, and along a right line across the stream, to and along the northern end of a public road, to and easterly generally along the generally northern boundaries of the said part Allotments 337A and 336 to and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Allotment 534 to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 45587, in Block I, Mangawhai Survey District; then easterly generally along the southern boundary of Allotment 309, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Allotment 91, to the line of mean high water of Bream Bay, all the aforesaid allotments being of Waipu Parish; then southerly generally along the line of mean high water of Bream Bay, the South Pacific Ocean, Mangawhai Harbour, and the Mangawhai River to a point in line with middle of that part of Pauls Road forming the northern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 24723, in Block III, Mangawhai Survey District; then south-easterly along a right line to and along the middle of Pauls Road, to a point in Block I, Pakiri Survey District, in line with the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 24567; then easterly along a right line to and along the southern boundaries of Lot 1 aforesaid and Allotment 315, Mangawhai Parish, and southerly and south-westerly along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Allotment 97, Mangawhai Parish, and the last-mentioned boundary produced to and north-westerly generally along the middle of Tomorata-Mangawhai Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Allotment 90, Mangawhai Parish; then westerly along a right line to and along that boundary to and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Allotments 16 and E. 78, Mangawhai Parish, and the last boundary produced to and westerly along the middle of Cames Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Allotment 50, Mangawhai Parish; then southerly along a right line to and along the southern boundary of the said Allotment 50 to and southerly along the eastern boundary of Allotment 10, Oruawharo Parish, and that boundary produced to the middle of a public road; then westerly along the middle of a public road forming the generally southern boundaries of Allotments 10, 11, 12, Lots 3 and 4, D.P. 42988, and Allotment 18 in Block IV, Otamatea Survey District, and continuing south-westerly along the middle of a public road forming the generally south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 229, E. 24, 27, N. 172, S. 173, N. 174, M. 174, S. 174, N. 175, M. 175, S.M. 175, S.W. 175, N.E. 73, W. 73, N.E. 74, and 74A, all the aforesaid allotments being of Oruawharo Parish to and northerly along the eastern boundary of Otoro and Te Topuni A2A Block to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 30610, in Block VIII, Otamatea Survey District; then westerly along the southern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to and north-westerly along the middle of Ross Road and the last middle line produced to and north-westerly along the middle of the North Auckland Railway to its intersection with the first
