National Roads Board—Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 7 December 1977, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of State Highway 3, Waitara-New Plymouth Section for half its width on the northern side commencing at the junction point of the west boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 11974, with the road reserve boundary and extending for 30 metres in an easterly direction, as more particularly shown on sheet 1 of Plan L.A. 42/27/1 and accompanying Schedule, held in the office of the resident engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, New Plymouth, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.

Environmental Impact Report Notified—Broadlands Geothermal Power Development

THE Commission for the Environment has received an environmental impact report prepared by the New Zealand Electricity Department, on the proposal to construct 150 MW geothermal power station near Broadlands, 28 kw north east of Taupo.

Representations in writing on the environmental aspects of the proposal and on the report are invited and should be sent to the Commission for the Environment, P.O. Box 11244, Wellington, before 18 February 1978.

Copies of the report may be obtained from the Wairakei Power Station, Wairakei; New Zealand Electricity Department, District Office, Peach Grove, Hamilton; New Zealand Electricity Department, Head Office, Private Bag, Wellington.

The report may be read at the public libraries in Taupo and Hamilton, as well as at the libraries of the four main centres and the seven university institutions.
