Assigning and Amending a Consent to use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby assigns to William Alfred Simmons, of Canvastown, a consent dated 2 February 1970 authorising Heino Pops, goldminer, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity (New Zealand Gazette, No. 12, 5 March 1970, page 373) and also amends the consent by deleting from paragraph (a) of the Schedule the figures “27” and substituting the figures “54”.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Okoha Holdings Limited at Okoha, Havelock, by the Use of Water

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Okoha Holdings Limited, of Okoha, Havelock, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions:

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

  2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

  3. The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant to this consent, shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1998.

  5. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  6. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 7.5 kW.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

(a) Headworks consisting of a dam intake and pipeline leading to the powerhouse, giving a static head of 91.44 metres.

(b) Water wheel and powerhouse, with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in Section 4, Block III, Gorc Survey District.

(c) Tail race leading from the power house to the sea.


As shown on the plan marked NZED 938, deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington. Dated at Wellington this 1st day of November 1977.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Mackenzie County) Notice No. 2, 1977.

  2. The Traffic Notice dated the 20th day of April 1966†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to a road situated within Mackenzie County at Lake Pukaki, is hereby revoked.

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Strathallan County) Notice No. 1, 1977.

  2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Strathallan County adjacent to Geraldine Borough: Geraldine-Orari Road: from the eastern boundary of Geraldine Borough to a point 100 metres measured south-easterly generally along the said road from the said boundary.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waitemata City—Waitakere/Titirangi Wards) Notice No. 3, 1977.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 21 of the Traffic Regulations 1962*.

  4. The Traffic (Waitemata City—Waitakere/Titirangi Wards) Notice No. 1, 1977, dated the 19th day of May 1977†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 21 of the Traffic Regulations 1962*, which relates to roads situated within the Waitakere and Titirangi Wards of Waitemata City, is hereby revoked.
