  1. No person shall be employed in or about the exhibition for more than 4 hours without an interval of at least three-quarters of an hour for a meal.

  2. (a) Any person employed during any day in or about the exhibition who is employed on that day for more than 8 hours, or before the hour of 8 a.m., or after the hour of 10.30 p.m., or on any day in excess of 5 days per week (whether the excess employment is in or about the exhibition or otherwise) shall be paid for the excess employment at not less than half as much again as the ordinary rate for the first 2 hours and at not less than twice the ordinary rate thereafter.

(b) Any person employed in or about the exhibition on any day that would, but for the provisions of this order, have been a whole holiday for that person by virtue of any Act, or of any collective agreements or awards, shall be paid for all work done on that day at not less than twice the ordinary rate, whether the work is performed wholly in or about the exhibition or otherwise: Provided that nothing in this subclause shall be deemed to deprive any person of any other payment for the said holiday to which he is entitled under any Act or collective agreements or awards.

  1. No assistant under 18 years of age shall be employed in or about the exhibition after the hour of 10.30 p.m.

  2. For the purposes of the enforcement of any collective agreements or awards, any provision of which has been suspended by this order, any officer of the industrial union or association concerned who is authorised in writing in that behalf by the union or association shall be entitled to interview at his place of employment any person employed in or about the exhibition under those collective agreements or awards at such time or times as may be agreed upon between the officer and the employer of that person, and for this purpose any such officer shall be entitled at any time to have access to the register of passes issued by the promoter.

  3. Nothing in this notice shall be deemed to affect any provisions in any collective agreements or awards requiring workers subject to such collective agreements or awards to be members of a union.

Rate of Annual Orchard Levy Fixed (No. 1630 Ag. 12/2/24)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Orchard Levy Act 1953 (as substituted by Section 2 of the Orchard Levy Amendment Act 1976) and having regard to the recommendation of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers Federation Limited, I hereby fix the annual rate of levy at $20.

This levy is to be paid by every person, who is the occupier of an orchard on the 31st day of January 1977, to the Federation in the month of March 1977.

The Wesley College Board of Governors Notice 1976

PURSUANT to section 51 of the Education Act 1964 the Minister of Education gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Wesley College Board of Governors Notice 1976.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the first day of February 1977.

  1. The Board of Governors of Wesley College shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Auckland Education Board;

(b) One member elected by the teachers of the School;

(c) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;

(d) Four members appointed by the proprietor of the school.

Declaration Making the Mineral Fluorite a “Specified Mineral” for the Purposes of Section 153E of the Land and Income Tax Act 1954

PURSUANT to section 153E (2) of the Land and Income Tax Act 1954, the Minister of Finance hereby declares the mineral fluorite to be a “specified mineral” for the purposes of the aforementioned section, with effect from the date of this notice.

Gaming Act 1908—Articles not to be Disposed of by Lottery or Chance

PURSUANT to the power and authority vested in him by section 42 of the Gaming Act 1908, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby revokes the notice set out in the Second Schedule hereto, and hereby notifies for public information that licences to dispose of property by way of lottery or chance shall not be granted in respect of the property or classes of property set out in the First Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

PROPERTY NOT TO BE DISPOSED OF BY WAY OF LOTTERY OR CHANCE

(1) Firearms.

(2) Firearm ammunition.

(3) Houses or residential accommodation.

(4) Land, except under the following circumstances:

(a) The land concerned must be donated.

(b) The land concerned must be unencumbered freehold.

(c) Where a clear registrable title to the land cannot be given within 3 months from the date of the drawing of the raffle a cash equivalent of the land shall be available.

(d) The capital value of the land to be disposed of, as assessed by the Valuer-General, shall not exceed the following figures:

(i) In the case of land to be disposed of by a local organisation: $5,000.

(ii) In the case of land to be disposed of by a provincial organisation: $6,000.

(iii) In the case of land to be disposed of by a national organisation: $7,500.

(5) Liquor, as defined in the Sale of Liquor Act 1962.
