NOTES:

  1. Camping or lighting of fires within the dedicated area is prohibited.
  2. No felling or removal of timber, forest produce, native plants or disturbance of the soil is permitted, except for scientific or forest or wildlife management purposes as approved by the Minister of Forests.
  3. The dedicated land, situated in Karioi State Forest 100, contains Dry Lake and Lake Rotokuru, and supports a diverse birdlife (Forest Service No. 3/100/EO1).

The Pukekura Historic Area Notice 1977

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as amended by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protection, and maintenance of the said land for historic and cultural purposes. The State forest land so dedicated shall be known as the Pukekura historic area.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY—HOBSON COUNTY

PART Allotment 24, Te Kuri Parish, situated in Block IV, Okaka Survey District, being part State Forest, New Zealand Gazette, 1971, page 912: area, 1.4164 hectares, more or less (S.O. Plan 50977).

As shown on plan N. 33/6, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

NOTES

  1. Camping or lighting of fires within the dedicated area is prohibited.
  2. The Pukekura historic area lies within the southern portion of Pouto State Forest 194 and is known to be a burial site of the Ngati Whatua tribe. A chief known as Paikea, together with a number of his warriors, were buried there between 1859 and 1860, and the site was used until 1880 (Forest Service No. 1/194/HO1).

The Waimangarara Ecological Area Notice 1977

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as amended by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protection, maintenance and management of trees and other plants, and for the protection of native wildlife, and for scientific purposes consistent with the proper use and management of State forest land. The State forest land so dedicated shall be known as the Waimangarara ecological area.

SCHEDULE

MARI BOROUGH LAND DISTRICT—CANTERBURY CONSERVANCY—KAIKOURA COUNTY

PART Section 9, Block IV, Mount Fyffe Survey District: area, 459.0 hectares, more or less (S.O. Plan 5390).

As shown on plan S. 49/1, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

NOTES

  1. Camping or lighting of fires within the dedicated area is prohibited.
  2. No felling or removal of timber, forest produce, native plants or disturbance of the soil is permitted, except for scientific or forest or wildlife management purposes as approved by the Minister of Forests.
  3. The dedicated area lies within Mount Fyffe State Forest 42 and contains a remnant of unlogged mixed podocarp-hardwood forest in the seaward Kaikoura Ranges (Forest Service No. 6/42/EO3).

The Waitangi Wetlands Area Notice 1977

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as amended by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976) and all other powers enabling him in that behalf the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protection, maintenance and management of wildlife habitat, and for amenity purposes consistent with the proper use and management of State forest land. The State forest land so dedicated shall be known as the Waitangi wetlands area.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY—BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY

PART Section 53, Block XII, Keri Keri Survey District: area, 158.8800 hectares, more or less (S.O. Plan 51240).

As shown on plan N. 11/8, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

NOTES

  1. Camping or lighting of fires within the dedicated area is prohibited.
  2. The dedicated land lies within Waitangi State Forest 193, and contains several freshwater lakes and swampland inhabited by wildfowl (Forest Service No. 1/193/EO2).

Authorisation of 1977 Hawke’s Bay Trade and Industries Fair

PURSUANT to the Exhibitions Act 1910, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. In this notice, unless the context otherwise requires—
    “The Act” means the Exhibitions Act 1910;
    “The promoter” means Mr Ernest Russell Longley, Managing Director N.Z. Exhibitions Ltd., Registered Office B.N.S.W. Building, Lambton Quay, Wellington;
    “The exhibition” means a public exhibition of works of industry and art to be conducted by the promoter at McLean Park, Napier, from the 18th day of March 1977 to the 27th day of March 1977, and to be known as the 1977 Hawke’s Bay Trade and Industries Fair.

  2. The exhibition is hereby authorised and declared to be an exhibition within the meaning of the Act.

  3. Subject to the conditions set out in the Schedule hereto, the following provisions are hereby suspended in so far as they relate to work done or business conducted or services rendered in the said premises during the period of the exhibition, by or on behalf of the promoter, or by or on behalf of any exhibitor at the exhibition, or by any person employed in or about the exhibition, namely—such of the provisions of—
    (a) The Industrial Relations Act 1973 and all collective agreements and awards in force thereunder;
    (b) The Shops and Offices Act 1955; and
    (c) The Factories Act 1946

as relate to the hours of commencing or ceasing work, or to the issue of permits, or to the payment for overtime, or extended hours, or to holidays and half-holidays, or to the closing of shops.

SCHEDULE

  1. Forty hours shall constitute a week’s work, to be worked on 5 days of the week, and 8 hours shall constitute a day’s work in or about the exhibition, and, with the exception set out in clause 2 hereof, the daily hours shall be worked consecutively.
