PURSUANT to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby appoints Laurence Houghton Stevens, Esquire, of Auckland, as a director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, to hold office during pleasure for a term of 3 years from the 1st day of October 1977.

Licence Empowering Auckland Young Men's Christian Association to Hold 3.1 Hectares of Land in Parish of Hunua

WHEREAS the Auckland Young Men’s Christian Association (hereinafter called the Company) was duly incorporated on the 29th day of February 1896 under the Companies Act 1882 and was registered with limited liability without the addition of the word “Limited” to its name in pursuance of an Order in Council in that behalf made on the 11th day of June 1895:
And whereas the Company is prevented by the proviso to section 28 of the Companies Act 1955 from holding more than 2 acres of land without the licence of the Governor-General in Council.
And whereas the only pieces of land the Company at present holds comprise:
(a) The site of its offices and premises situated at the corners of Pitt Street, Vincent Street, and Grey’s Avenue, Auckland (being all those pieces of land containing together 3 roods 24.71 perches, more or less, being Allotments 64, 66, and 67, and part Allotments 22 and 65, of Section 28 of the City of Auckland and Lot 1 of Deposited Plan 33957, and all the land comprised in Deposited Plan 16673); and
(b) A Boy’s Camp Site at Hunua (being all those pieces of land containing together 29 acres 1 rood 33 perches, being portion of Allotment 50 of the Parish of Hunua and portion of Allotments 3, 15, and 16 of the Parish of Otau and all the land comprised in Deeds Plan 1110 and Deposited Plan 25201):
And whereas the Company desires to enlarge the said Camp Site by the acquisition of the land described in the Schedule to this licence:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 28 of the Companies Act 1955, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and at the request of the Company, do, by this licence, empower the Company to hold, in addition to the land described in paragraphs (a) and (b) of this licence, the piece of land described in the Schedule to this licence.
SCHEDULE
All that piece of land containing 3.1 hectares, more or less, being formerly part Allotment 50 of the Parish of Hunua and part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title No. 31C/410 (North Auckland Registry) and being now part of the land in Lot 1 of Deposited Plan 81611 and part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title No. 38B/847 (North Auckland Registry).

Appointment of Coroner
PURSUANT to section 2 of the Coroners Act 1951, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint Bruce Clayton Thorne barrister and solicitor, of Whangarei, to be a Coroner for New Zealand.

Appointment of a Member of the Timber Preservation Authority
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Timber Preservation Regulations 1955, the Minister of Forests hereby reappoints, on the nomination of the New Zealand Sawmillers’ Federation John Crosley Davenport to be a member of the Timber Preservation Authority with effect from the 23rd day of August 1977.

Appointment of an Honorary Litter Prevention Officer
PURSUANT to section 5 (1) of the Litter Act 1968, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints the person, named in the Schedule hereto, to be a litter prevention officer in an honorary capacity and to exercise his duty in respect of public places in the Otago Acclimatisation Society’s area. The appointment will take effect on 1 October 1977.
