Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force

Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force:

REGULAR AIR FORCE

GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH

Appointments

Wing Commander Edward Hugh Legget, Royal Air Force (Ret’d), is appointed to a short-service commission for a period of five years in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority from 5 May 1974 and effect from 5 May 1976, to be followed by four years on the Reserve of Air Force Officers.

Squadron Leader Malcolm John Derek Fuller, Royal Air Force (Ret’d), is appointed to a short-service commission for a period of five years in the rank of Squadron Leader, with seniority from 12 April 1975 and effect from 12 April 1976, to be followed by four years on the Reserve of Air Force Officers.

Flight Lieutenant D. J. Ellis to be temp. Squadron Leader with effect from 5 May 1976.

Promotions

Squadron Leader (temp. Wing Commander) S. W. Quayle to be Wing Commander, with seniority from 12 May 1975 and effect from 13 April 1976.

Flight Lieutenant (temp. Squadron Leader) R. M. Bulger to be Squadron Leader with seniority and effect from 21 May 1976.

Robert Michael Angelo is appointed to a short-service commission for a period of five years in the rank of Flying Officer, with seniority from 26 April 1975 and effect from 26 April 1976, to be followed by four years on the Reserve of Air Force Officers.

The commission and age for retirement of Flight Lieutenant N. H. Bartholomew, B.E.M., are extended to 3 June 1978, to be followed by three years on the Reserve of Air Force Officers.

Transfer to Reserve

Squadron Leader Ross Lithgow Ewing is transferred to the Reserve of Air Force Officers until 31 May 1980, with effect from 1 June 1976.

EDUCATION BRANCH

Appointment

Squadron Leader G. Y. Gemmell, is appointed to a career commission for a period to expire on 23 November 1979, with effect from 10 May 1976.

Extension of Commission and Age for Retirement

The short-service commission and age for retirement of Squadron Leader K. J. Smith are extended to 1 March 1980.
