Act 1967, I hereby appoint

Island Pest Destruction Boards Association)
to be a member of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Council,
for the residue of Mr G. G. Wilson's term, expiring on 31
March 1978.

Warrant of Appointment of Commission of Inquiry under
Section 55 (1) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1955

I, Venn Spearman Young, Minister of Forests, acting pursuant
to the powers vested in me by section 55 (1) of the Forest
and Rural Fires Act 1955, hereby appoint
Alick Lindsay Poole, Esquire, Commander of the Most
Excellent Order of the British Empire, of Wellington.
Frank Albert Hardy, Esquire, Queen's Fire Service Medal,
of Wellington, and
John Ure, Esquire, Distinguished Service Cross, of Rotorua,
to hold an inquiry into and to report upon the following
matters arising from or related to the fire occurring in State
Forest No. 2 in the Hanmer district on about the 22nd and
23rd days of March 1976:
(a) the circumstances of the fire;
(b) the conduct of the fire fighting;
(c) the effectiveness of fire prevention measures prior to
the fire;
(d) such other matters as appear to the Commission to be
relevant to any of the foregoing;
(e) generally to inquire into, report upon and make recom-
mendations concerning the safeguards adopted in
control burn operations used to establish or re-
establish exotic State forests.
And whereas, pursuant to section 55 (2) of the Forest and
Rural Fires Act 1955, the said Alick Lindsay Poole, Frank
Albert Hardy, and John Ure, holding such inquiry are for
the purposes thereof deemed to be a commission of inquiry
under the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, then I do hereby
further appoint the said Alick Lindsay Poole to be Chairman
of the said commission of inquiry.
