Up to 306 kilometres . . . . . . Class E plus 25%

Over 306 km (minimum rate as class E plus 25% for 306 km, viz, $12.68 per tonne) . . . . . . Class C less 50%

Fish as under:

Not otherwise specified. Minimum quantity 1.75 tonnes per four-wheeled wagon. (If loose fish, owners to load and unload). Lesser quantities will be charged at such minimum or at Class D rate increased by 50% subject to a minimum charge of $7.08 per consignment . . . . . . Class D

Foods, farinaceous, as under:

Prepared in biscuit form, wrapped in kraft paper, consignments of more than 20 packages loaded or unloaded by the department will be charged Class C plus $2.04 per tonne . . . . . . Class C

Paper as under:

Printing, poster, manilla, tissue for waxing, pattern tissue, fruit wrap tissue, M.G. cap (tissue) wrapping, newsprint, paper bags or paper for manufacturing multiwall bags, and plain cardboard, consigned direct by rail from or to paper mills. Minimum quantity 500 kg per consignment:

For distances not exceeding 566 kilometres . . . . . . Class D less 25%

For distances exceeding 566 km (minimum rate as Class D less 25% for 566 km; viz $21.50 per tonne) . . . . . . Class D less 33⅓%

Riding devices, including “Chair-o-planes”, “Dodgems”, Merry-go-rounds, and similar side-show equipment, Owners to load and unload. The charge per railway wagon will be as follows:

Each four-wheeled wagon, not otherwise specified, 31c per kilometre. Minimum charge $19.91

Each KC, KP, KS, LC, MC, NC, NF, XC or XP wagon, 36c per kilometre. Minimum charge $23.95

Each bogie wagon 62c per kilometre. Minimum charge $39.83

  1. Computation of Charges

Paragraph 1, subparagraph (c).

Omit:

Small lots of goods of Classes C, D, E, and G including goods chargeable at such rates subject to a percentage increase or decrease will be charged as per section 71. Such classes of goods in quantities exceeding 250 kg will be subject to a minimum charge as for 250 kg as provided in section 71, but the additional charge of 25c referred to in paragraph 2 thereof will not be levied.

Paragraph 8, subparagraph (a).

Omit:

Explosives: (a) Except as otherwise provided, goods of an explosive nature not permitted to be conveyed in wagons containing ordinary goods will be subject to an additional charge of $1 per consignment (irrespective of the quantity or the distance hauled).

Insert:

Paragraph 1, subparagraph (c).

Small lots of goods of Classes C, D, E and G including goods chargeable at such rates subject to a percentage increase or decrease will be charged as per section 71. Such classes of goods in quantities exceeding 250 kg will be subject to a minimum charge as for 250 kg as provided in section 71, but the additional charge of 50c referred to in paragraph 2 thereof will not be levied.

Paragraph 8, subparagraph (a).

Explosives: (a) Except as otherwise provided, goods of an explosive nature not permitted to be conveyed in wagons containing ordinary goods will be subject to an additional charge of $1.30 per consignment (irrespective of the quantity or the distance hauled).
