106. Check and Empty Railway Wagons: Bogie and Special Wagons
- Check wagons and empty railway wagons (other than petrol-tank wagons) hauled on their own wheels will be charged as follows; bogie wagons will be charged double rates:

ALTERATIONS TO THE SCALES OF CHARGES UPON THE NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS
GENERAL SCALE OF CHARGES — CLASSIFICATION OF GOODS AND LIVESTOCK
PURSUANT to the Government Railways Act 1949, the Minister of Railways hereby makes the following alterations to the Classification of Goods and Livestock, published in the Supplement, dated 3rd Day of December 1973, to the New Zealand Gazette of the 29th day of November 1973 and hereby declares that such alterations shall come into force on the 1st day of February 1976.
Sections 69 and 71 of the said General Scale of Charges—Classification of Goods and Livestock are hereby revoked and the following provisions are substituted therefor—

Cement, not otherwise specified. Owners to load and unload.
Owner's risk—Up to 306 kilometres .. .. .. .. Class E plus 25%
Over 306 km (minimum rate as class E plus 25% for 306 km, viz $9.75 per tonne) .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Class C less 50%
Fish as under:
Not otherwise specified. Minimum quantity 1.75 tonnes per four-wheeled wagon. (If loose fish, owners to load and unload).
Lesser quantities will be charged at such minimum or at Class D rate increased by 50% subject to a minimum charge of $5.45 per consignment .. .. Class D
Foods, farinaceous, as under:
Prepared in biscuit form, wrapped in kraft paper.
Consignments of more than 20 packages loaded or unloaded by the department will be charged Class C plus $1.57 per tonne .. .. .. .. Class C
Paper as under:
Printing, poster, manilla, tissue for waxing, pattern tissue, fruit wrap tissue, M.G. cap (tissue) wrapping, newsprint, paper bags, or paper for manufacturing multiwall bags, plain cardboard, consigned direct by rail from or to paper mills.
Minimum quantity 500 kg per consignment—
For distances not exceeding 566 kilometres .. .. .. .. Class D less 25%
For distances exceeding 566 km (minimum rate as Class D less 25% for 566 km; viz $16.53 per tonne) .. .. .. .. .. .. Class D less 33 1/3%
Riding devices, including "Chair-o-planes", "Dodgems", Merry-go-rounds, and similar side-show equipment. Owners to load and unload. The charge per railway wagon will be as follows:
Each four-wheeled wagon, not otherwise specified, 24 cents per kilometre. Minimum charge $15.32.
Each Kc, Kp, Ks, Lc, Mc, Nc, Nf, Xc, or Xp wagon, 28 cents per kilometre. Minimum charge $18.43.
Each bogie wagon 48 cents per kilometre. Minimum charge $30.64.
