(b) Any such articles inadvertently deposited in luggage lockers and being found to be within the categories mentioned, will be removed and stored or otherwise suitably dealt with as the Department may determine and at the sole risk and cost of the depositor or owner.

  1. Insurance—Persons desiring to insure packages or contents thereof must present these at the Left Luggage Office for storage in the Luggage Room and pay the insurance fee prescribed in Section 50 paragraph 10.

  2. Delivery—(a) Articles not taken delivery of by 11.30 p.m. on the day that they are deposited will be removed to the Left Luggage Room and held by the Department subject to the conditions prescribed for Left Luggage in Section 50.

(b) Delivery of articles deposited and subsequently removed by the Department will be made upon production of the key which opened the locker at the time the articles were deposited, and upon payment of the charges prescribed for Left Luggage as contained in Section 50.

  1. (a) Any person claiming delivery of any package or article held by the Department under the provisions of paragraph 5 hereof, before such package is delivered to him may be required to make at his own cost a declaration describing the article of which delivery is claimed and such other information as the Department may require. He may also be required to indemnify the Department against any loss or claim that may arise as a result of delivery to any such person and to furnish such other proof of his title to the delivery of such package as the Department may require. A replacement fee of $1.00 will be made for each locker key lost.

(b) Should the information furnished by the claimant as proof of his title to delivery or the indemnity be deemed by the Department to be insufficient or unsatisfactory, delivery of such package or article may be withheld and the Department shall not be liable for any inconvenience or loss that may result from delivery being so withheld.

  1. Motor Bicycles

  2. Addressing—Motor bicycles accompanying passengers by rail must be fully and legibly addressed with the name and the destination of the passenger, and be presented at the railway station for booking at least 15 minutes before the due time of departure of the train by which they are to be carried. The department will not be responsible for the loss of motor bicycles unless this provision is complied with.

  3. Rates—Motor bicycles accompanying passengers will be charged on the actual route to be travelled, i.e., the route covered by the passenger ticket held, at the following rates, owners to load and unload:

  1. Motor bicycles or motor scooters with trailers or sidecars attached, also go-karts, will be charged at double parcels rates, section 55, and will be conveyed in guard’s vans of passenger and mixed trains only at the convenience of the department. They will not be carried on express trains. Sidecars detached from motor bicycles will be charged on actual weight at rate and a quarter, parcels rates, section 55. Terminal charges will be additional.

  2. Motor bicycles and motor scooters (unaccompanied) whether consigned as parcels or goods traffic are to be charged in accordance with the rating instruction provided in section 54, paragraph 7. In the case of goods traffic the surcharge as provided in section 71, paragraph 2 will apply if the freight is not prepaid.

  3. Motor scooters will be charged as motor bicycles.

  4. General Conditions—Each passenger will be allowed to take only one motor bicycle at the above rates, which in each case must be prepaid.

  5. Motor bicycles when charged with petrol or any inflammable liquid will not be accepted for conveyance by rail. In addition, the battery leads must be disconnected from the battery and tied back in such a manner that they cannot touch the battery terminals while in transit.

  6. The department will not be responsible for motor bicycles left about the premises of the railway and not duly delivered into the custody of the department. Any such bicycles found about the premises of the railway will be treated as lost luggage, and charged for as provided in section 49.

  7. Storage—Motor bicycles not claimed immediately after arrival at destination station will be allowed free storage on the day of arrival; after that time they will be charged for storage as follows:
