along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section
B. 7 and the eastern boundary of the said Section B. 7,
produced to the left bank of the Maitai River; thence
generally easterly, northerly, and southerly along the said
left bank to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary
of Section A. 8, District of Wakatu; thence north-westerly
and westerly to and along the north-eastern and northern
boundaries of the said Section A. 8 to the north-westernmost
corner of the said Section A. 8; thence westerly and southerly
along the northern and western boundaries of Section 1160,
City of Nelson, to the north-eastern corner of Section A. 7,
District of Wakatu; thence westerly and southerly along the
northern and western boundaries of the said Section A. 7,
and again southerly along the western boundary of Section
A. 6, District of Wakatu, to the north-eastern corner of
Section A. 4, District of Wakatu; thence westerly along the
northern boundaries of the said Section A. 4 and Section
A. 10, District of Wakatu, to the south-eastern corner of
Section 1166, City of Nelson; thence northerly along the
eastern boundary of the said Section 1166 to the eastern-
most corner of Section A. 9, District of Wakatu; thence
westerly along the northern boundary of the said Section A. 9
to the south-eastern corner of Section A. 1, District of Wakatu;
thence northerly and westerly along the eastern and northern
boundaries of the said Section A. 1 to the south-eastern
corner of Section 1204. City of Nelson; thence northerly
along the eastern boundaries of the said Section 1204 and

City of Nelson, to the south-eastern side of North Road;
thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of the said
North Road to a point in line with the northern boundary
of Section H. 9, District of Wakatu; thence westerly across
North Road, to and along the northern boundary of the said
Section H. 9 to the easternmost corner of Section 1167, City
of Nelson; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern bound-
ary of the said Section 1167 to its northernmost point; thence
north-westerly along a right line to a point on the south-
eastern boundary of Section 1132, City of Nelson, in line
with the centre of the lighthouse tower; thence north-easterly
and north-westerly along the south-eastern and north-eastern
boundaries of the said Section 1132 to its northernmost point;
thence generally north-easterly along the sea coast of Tasman
Bay, crossing the mouths of all harbours and inlets, to the
point of commencement.

OUTER AREA
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, as constituted
on the 1st day of May 1929 (as described in New Zealand
Gazette, 1929, page 1311), being part of the City of Nelson.
As shown on plan N.Z.E.D. 919, deposited in the Head
Office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Welling-
ton, and thereon bordered with a bold black line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day
of March 1976
Present:
THE RIGHT HON. R. D. MULDOON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS by Proclamation, dated the 3rd day of March 1924,
and published in the Gazette, on the 6th day of March 1924,
the Waitomo Electric Power District as therein described was
duly constituted as an electric power district within the meaning
of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925;
And whereas by Proclamation, dated the 11th day of January
1923, and published in the Gazette, on the 18th day of January
1923, the Wairere Electric Power District as therein described
was duly constituted as an electric power district within the
meaning of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925:
And whereas the districts controlled by the Waitomo Electric
Power Board and the Wairere Electric Power Board have
since the respective dates of the constitution of the Boards been
extended, modified, and amended:
And whereas it is desirable to amalgamate the electric
undertakings and districts of the Waitomo Electric Power
Board and the Wairere Electric Power Board under a new
electric power board to be hereby constituted under the
Electric Power Boards Act 1925:
And whereas by special order of the Waitomo Electric Power
Board, confirmed on the 23rd day of October 1975, and by
special order of the Wairere Electric Power Board, confirmed
on the 23rd day of October 1975, it was resolved that the
amalgamation of the two Boards be recommended:
And whereas the Local Government Commission has
recommended the amalgamation in terms of the Local Govern-
ment Act 1974:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Electric Power Boards Act
1925 and the Local Government Act 1974, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
The Waitomo Electric Power District-The areas stated
in the First Schedule to this order are hereby constituted as
the Waitomo Electric Power District. -
The Waitomo Electric Power Board-The Waitomo
Electric Power Board is hereby constituted for the purpose of
administering the supply of electricity in the Waitomo Electric
Power District. -
Representation-
(i) The constituent districts which are bracketed
together in the first column of the Second Schedule
to this order shall be a combined district, and the local
authority of the constituent district, distinguished by
the letter "(P)", shall be the principal local authority
of the combined district.
(ii) The number of representatives of each
constituent district or combined district shall be the
number specified in the Second Schedule to this order
opposite the name of that constituent district or
combined district. Provided that until the next triennial
local body elections the total number of the present
members of the present Waitomo Electric Power
Board and the Wairere Electric Power Board shall be
the number of representatives of the Waitomo Electric
Power Board.
(iii) The first representatives of the constituent dis-
tricts and combined districts shall be the present mem-
bers of the present Waitomo and Wairere Electric
Power Boards and shall hold office until the next
triennial local body election. All subsequent represen-
tatives of the constituent districts and combined dis-
tricts shall be elected by the electors of the said
constituent districts and combined districts.

First Meeting of Board-The first meeting of the Wai-
tomo Electric Power Board shall be held at the office of the
Board in Te Kuiti, at 2 p.m., on the 6th day of April 1976. -
Functions, Powers, and Responsibilities of Board-The
Waitomo Electric Power Board shall have all the powers, rights,
duties, obligations, and responsibilities of an electric power
board constituted under the Electric Power Boards Act 1925,
and the provisions of the Electric Power Boards Act 1925, in so
far as they are not contrary to this Order shall apply to the
board.
