Declaration That Part of the Fairfield Domain Shall be a Recreation Reserve and Revocation of the Reservation Over the Said Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that that part of the Fairfield Domain described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part III of the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, and shall be deemed to be a recreation reserve subject to Part II of the said Act, and further, revokes the reservation for recreation purposes over the said reserve.

Waipoua Forest Kauri Management and Research Area Notice 1976

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as amended by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973), the Minister of Forests hereby gives the following Notice.

NOTICE

THE areas of State forest land described in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart first for the establishment, culture, growth, protection, maintenance, and management of kauri and associated indigenous species and secondly for scientific, amenity, and recreational purposes.

THIS notice comes into force on the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—AUCKLAND CONSERVANCY— HOBSON COUNTY

FIRSTLY, Part Wairau South Block, Parts Waimamaku No. 2 Block, Parts Waipoua Block, Sections 19, 20, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 33 and Part Section 21, Block XIII, Waioku Survey District, and Section 12 and Part Section 13, Block I, Waipoua Survey District: area, 3228 hectares approximate, as more particularly shown as area marked A on S.O. plan 50343.

Note: The above notice will enable kauri to be perpetuated as a species in the interest of science and for the public enjoyment both in natural stands and as managed forests.

It is intended, having regard to the general purposes of the above notice, to carry out artificial establishment of kauri and silvicultural treatment of natural regeneration, with the proviso that not more than 5 percent of the area described in the Schedule shall so be treated in any 1 year.

Other silvicultural activities which may be carried out may include cultivation or other disturbance of the soil, application of appropriate chemicals, releasing, thinning, and the careful removal of mature and decadent trees.

Any utilisation carried out shall be incidental to the object of providing a healthy kauri forest.

The Te Awamutu Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1964, Amendment No. 1

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby amends the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1964* as follows:

1. In clause 2 of the said licence, after the words “in the First Schedule hereto” the words “and also to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the First Schedule hereto” are hereby inserted.

2. In the First Schedule to the said licence the following heading and paragraphs are hereby inserted:

“LINES AUTHORISED

“1. A line commencing from a point on Maru Road in Pt 4G, 4G2A, and proceeding in a northerly direction into Pt 4, D.P. 12622, all being situated in Block VI, Maungatautari Survey District, the said line being more particularly coloured red on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 904 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

“2. A line commencing from a point on the Board’s boundary in Section 23 and proceeding in a south-westerly direction for approximately 1600 metres into Section BB1 all being situated in Block XIV, Kawhia North Survey District, the said line being more particularly coloured red on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 917 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.”
