Returns of Insurance Premiums Required From Persons, etc., Insuring Property Against Fire Otherwise Than With an Insurance Company Carrying on Business in New Zealand

THE attention of all persons, firms, companies, and associations being owners of property in respect of which premiums are paid to an insurance company not carrying on business in New Zealand is drawn to section 60 of the Fire Services Act 1972, and, furthermore, the attention of all persons, firms, companies, and associations in possession of funds for insurance purposes is drawn to section 60 (2) of the Act, which is quoted as follows:

“For the purposes of this section, where an owner of any property within a district makes a payment in respect of that property to any fund established for insurance purposes either within or beyond New Zealand, the person in possession of the fund shall be deemed to be an insurance company and every amount paid to the fund shall be deemed to be a premium”.

By notice in the Gazette, No. 10, 29 January 1976, at page 210, the Minister of Local Government has fixed Friday, 27 February 1976, as the time by which returns showing the total gross amount of premiums received by or due to fire insurance companies during the year ended 31 December 1975 shall be transmitted to the Fire Service Commission.

Returns, accompanied by auditor’s certificate and a statutory declaration, must be lodged forthwith and should be addressed to the Chief Executive Office, Fire Service Commission, P.O. Box 2133, Wellington.

The Road Classification (National Roads Board) Notice No. 2, 1976

PURSUANT to regulation 3 of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974 the Secretary for Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Road Classification (National Roads Board) Notice No. 2, 1976.

  2. It is hereby declared, as required by the National Roads Board, that the State highway as set out in the Schedule hereto shall belong to the class set out in the said Schedule.

  3. So much of the notice dated the 8th day of June 1965,* 22nd day of April 1974,† 22nd day of October 1965‡ which relates to the classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.

Roads Classified in Class One

State Highway 72 (Woodend to Winchester): from its junction with State Highway No. 1 (Awanui to Bluff) at Woodend to Stavely Corner (route position 121/4.96), and from Gorse Fence Road (route position 121/8.56) to its junction with State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) at Winchester.

Roads to be Class Two

State Highway 72 (Woodend to Winchester): from Stavely Corner (route position 121/4.96) to Gorse Fence Road (route position 121/8.56).

Declaration of Vehicle with Motor Cycle Controls to be a Motor Cycle

PURSUANT to section 2 of the Transport Act 1962, the Secretary for Transport hereby declares that the vehicle having motor cycle controls, described in the Schedule hereto, is a motor cycle for the purposes of the said Act.

SCHEDULE

The three-wheeled vehicle with motor cycle controls manufactured by Daihatsu Motor Sales Co. Ltd. of Japan and having the trade name “Daihatsu Motor Tri-cycle”.
