Boundaries of Mosgiel Borough, Green Island Borough and Taieri County and the East Taieri, Otokia, North Taieri, and Kaikorai Ridings of the County of Taieri Defined

PURSUANT to section 26 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Local Government hereby redefines as set out in the Schedule hereto the boundaries of Mosgiel Borough, Green Island Borough, Taieri County, and the East Taieri, Otokia, North Taieri, and Kaikorai Ridings of Taieri County. In the case of Taieri County and Green Island Borough, the boundaries having previously been altered by Order in Council made on 4 March 1974, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 27, 28 March 1974, page 551. In the case of Taieri County and Mosgiel Borough, the boundaries having previously been altered by Order in Council made on 17 June 1974, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 59, 20 June 1974, page 1195.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF MOSGIEL

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing 787 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Lot 22, D.P. 254, in Block II, East Taieri Survey District, and proceeding south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 22 to 27 inclusive, D.P. 254, to the westernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of part Section 4, Block II, East Taieri Survey District, to the north-western side of the South Island main trunk railway; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of that railway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 5, D.P. 5978; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary of the said Lot 5 and its production to a point distant 60.75 metres from the northernmost corner of that Lot 5; thence generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of that part of Section 26, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District, comprised in C.T. B2/1237, to the northernmost corner of the part of Section 25 comprised in C.T. 3D/587; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of part Section 25 aforesaid, to its easternmost corner; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of Woodland Avenue to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 4, D.P. 9330; thence southerly to and along the eastern boundaries of that lot and Lot 2, D.P. 11271, to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence generally south-westerly along the generally north-western boundaries of Lot 1 and 2, D.P. 9730, to a point due east of the northernmost corner of part Section 32, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District, comprised in C.T. 258/137; thence due west along a right line to that corner; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the aforementioned title to the western boundary of part Section 32, Irregular Block, comprised in C.T. 272/97; thence southerly along that boundary to the north-western boundary of Section 1 of 4, Block VIII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the north-eastern boundary of part Section 34, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly along that boundary to the eastern-most corner of Lot 2, D.P. 9662; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned lot and its production to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 9211; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that Lot 2 and Lot 1, D.P. 9211, to the easternmost corner of part Section 35, comprised in C.T. 264/87; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that part Section 35 to the south-eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of that highway to the northernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 7573; thence southerly and south-westerly along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Lots 3, 2, and 1, D.P. 7573, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 4677; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that lot to its southernmost corner; thence south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of part Section 36, comprised in C.T. 25/178; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that part Section, part Section 36, comprised in C.T. 264/118, and Lot C, Deeds Plan 244, to the southern-most corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, Deeds Plan 70; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of that lot, and Lots 2, 3, and 4, Deeds Plan 70; Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 5682; and Lots 7 to 17 inclusive, Deeds Plan 70, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot;

thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that lot and its production to the north-western side of No. 1 State Highway; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of that highway to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 10872; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 10872, and along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 7572; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Lots 4 and 6, D.P. 7572, to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 10404; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Lot 2, D.P. 10404; Lot 1, D.P. 10036; Lot 1, D.P. 15155, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the north-western side of Gladstone Road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of Gladstone Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of part Section 3, Block III, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along the north-eastern boundaries of that part Section 3 and Section 9, to a line parallel to and distant 44.26 metres south-eastward from the south-eastern side of Bush Road; thence south-westerly along that line to the south-western boundary of Section 10, Block III, aforesaid; thence north-westerly along that boundary and its production to the easternmost corner of part Section 5, Block VII, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of the said part Section 5, Lots 20 and 19, D.P. 1846, to the intersection of the last-mentioned boundary with the middle of the Silver Stream; thence generally easterly up the middle of that stream to the south-eastern boundary of part Section 10, Block VII, aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the south-western boundaries of part Sections 10 and 9; Section 8; and part Section 7 to Gordon Road, and along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 11002; thence north-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 3 to Reid Avenue, and along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 11, Block VI, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 11 and 10 to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 11036; thence north-westerly, north-easterly, south-easterly, again north-easterly and again north-westerly, along the south-western, north-western, north-eastern, north-western and south-western boundaries of that Lot 2 to the northernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 11001; thence north-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 3, Block X, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that section to the southernmost corner of Section 3S, Crosshill Settlement; thence north-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Sections 3S, 8S, and 7S, Crosshill Settlement, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the north-eastern side of Hazlett Road; thence generally easterly along the generally northern boundary of Block VI, East Taieri Survey District, to the north-western side of Dukes Road; thence north-easterly along that side of Dukes Road to a point in line with the north-eastern side of Stedman Road; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern side of that road, and the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 3, 8, and 9, D.P. 11036, to the easternmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 9 and its production to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 9406; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Lot 1 to its southernmost corner; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of Severn Street to a point in line with the middle line of Centre Street; thence south-easterly to and along the middle of that street and its production to the original south-eastern side of Factory Road; thence north-easterly along the original south-eastern side of Factory Road to the westernmost corner of Lot 36, D.P. 254; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Lots 36, 33, 32, 31, 30, 29, and 28, D.P. 254, to the point of commencement.

BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF GREEN ISLAND

ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing 781 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of the land shown on D.P. 2880 in Block VII. Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of the land on that D.P. 2880, to the south-western side of North Taieri Road; thence north-westerly along the south-western side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 82, Block VII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence north-easterly and south-easterly along the north-western and north-eastern sides of that road to a line parallel to, and distance 20.12 metres northward of the northern boundary of Lot 13, D.P. 8956; thence north-easterly along that line bearing
