The Royal Society of New Zealand

PURSUANT to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1965, the Fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the annual general meeting, held on 26 May 1976, passed a resolution amending the rules of the society published in the New Zealand Gazette on 22 December 1965, the effect of such resolution being:
SECTION B—THE ELECTION OF COUNCIL AND OFFICERS
Rule B3 was amended to read:
Of the ten councillors, six (to be known as Fellows' Councillors) shall be elected by the Fellows from among their number, two (to be known as Member Bodies' Councillors) shall be members or Fellows appointed by the Member Bodies' Committee, and two (also to be known as Member Bodies' Councillors) shall be appointed by the Fellows from those among their number nominated by the Member Bodies’ Committee.

Bona Vacantia Disclaimed

IN the matter of section 338 of the Companies Act 1955, and in the matter of Cromwell Coal and Contracting Limited (a dissolved company):
NOTICE is hereby given as follows:

  1. That, on the 6th day of October 1976, it came to the notice of the Secretary to the Treasury that the coal mining lease held by the above-mentioned company, under the Coal Mines Act 1925, and registered in the Warden’s Court at Cromwell as No. 10841, had vested in the Crown pursuant to section 337 of the Companies Act 1955;
  2. That on the date aforesaid application was received by the Secretary to the Treasury for the Crown’s title to the said lease to be disclaimed;
  3. That no such application as aforesaid was received by the Secretary to the Treasury with respect to the said lease before the date aforesaid; and
  4. That the Crown’s title to the said lease is hereby disclaimed.

DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL

201 Girls, published by Sun West, Los Angeles, presents its subjects with undue, and sometimes degrading, emphasis on their sexual characteristics, with the spurious claim that it is “a scientific, educational, sociological publication.”
The Tribunal classes the publication as indecent.

Boundaries of County of Eketahuna Defined

PURSUANT to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secretary for Local Government hereby redefines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the County of Eketahuna, having previously been altered by Order in Council made on 16 December 1974, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 122, 19 December 1974.

SCHEDULE

EKETAHUNA COUNTY

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District containing 828 square kilometres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Trig Station AA (Arawaru) in Block I, Tararua S.D., and proceeding generally south-easterly along a right line to the intersection of the right bank of the Makakahi River with the production of the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Mangahao S.D., to and along that boundary, the south-western boundaries of Sections 1A and 5, Block III, Mangaone S.D. (including a right line across a road), the south-eastern boundaries of Section 5, 4, and 3, Block III, Mangaone S.D., the south-western boundaries of Section 4A and 33, Block III, Mangaone S.D., the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 33 for a distance of 379.54 metres, a right line bearing 123° 30' to the middle of the Mangaone Stream, down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 16, Block IV, Mangaone S.D., to and along that boundary and its production to and along the middle of Pa Valley Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 175, Rangitumau District, to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Tiraumea River, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 65, Tiraumea District, and to and along that boundary (including a right line across a road) to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 65; thence northerly along the eastern boundaries of Section 65, 64, 63, 62, and 61, Tiraumea District (including right lines across roads) to the north-eastern corner of the said Section 61; thence north-easterly along a right line to Trig Station L (Puketoi) in Block III, Puketoi S.D., and along the summit of the Puketoi Range to Peg VIII shown on S.O. Plan 13610; thence generally south-easterly along the watershed defined by traverse lines on the said plan, the north-eastern boundaries of Section 23, 9, and 10, Block III, Puketoi S.D., to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block IV, Puketoi S.D., to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 3, 4, 5, and 6, the southern boundaries of Sections 7 and 29, and the south-western boundary of Section 28, Block IV, Puketoi S.D., the north-western side of No. 52 State Highway to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 7, Block VIII, Puketoi S.D., to and along that boundary, the north-western and southern boundaries of Section 29, the southern boundary of Section 28, and the western boundary of Section 4, Block V, Owahanga S.D., to the northern side of Waihoki Road; thence westerly along that side to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block VIII, Puketoi S.D.; thence generally southerly to and along that boundary, the western and southern boundaries of Section 16, Block XII, Puketoi S.D. (including a right line across a road), and the western boundaries of Section 221, Akitio District, and Section 19, Block XII, Puketoi S.D. (including right lines across roads) to the south-western corner of the said Section 19; thence generally easterly along the generally northern boundaries of Sections 9, 19, 9, 18, 9, 27, 29, 27, 28, and 27, Block XVI, Puketoi S.D., the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Pakowhai Stream, down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 27 aforesaid,
