Notice of Intention to Apply for Ministerial Approval of Codes of Practice under the Construction Act 1959

Pursuant to section 18B of the Construction Act 1959, I, James William Cornish, the Chief Safety Engineer of the Department of Labour, hereby give notice of the intention to apply after one month from the date of this notice to the Minister of Labour for approval of the Code of Practice for Scaffolding on Construction Work, of March 1976, the Code of Practice for Underwater Diving on Construction Work, of 1 April 1976, and the Code of Practice for Excavation on Construction Work, of 1970, revised 1975.

Environmental Impact Report Notified--Auckland Thermal No. 1 Power Station

The Commission for the Environment gives notice that it has received an environmental impact report on the proposal to construct and operate a 1400MW thermal power station near to Waiau Pa on the south foreshores of Manukau Harbour.

Representations in writing on the environmental aspects of the project; as it is explained in the report, will be received at the Office of the Commission, P.O. Box 11244, Wellington, until Friday, 14 January 1976.

Copies of the report may be purchased from the New Zealand Electricity Department, Stores Section, District Office, P.O. Box 2976, Auckland, or the Stores Section, District Office, P.O. Box 12-144, Wellington, at a cost of $2. Copies may be seen at the public libraries at Manurewa, Waiuku, Takapuna, Tamaki, Te Atatu North and South, Titirangi, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin or at the libraries of the seven university institutions.

Notice of Final Decision of New Zealand Geographic Board re Assigning of Place Names

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on the 11th day of March 1976 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the names set out in the Schedule attached to the said notice; and whereas, pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, no objections have been received to such of the proposed names as are set out in the First Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, pursuant to sections 14 and 15 of the said Act, notice is hereby given that the names set out in the First Schedule hereto are final decisions of the Board and that such decisions take effect on the 15th day of October 1976.

Plans showing the location of the features may be inspected at the office of the Chief Surveyor for the Department, or at the office of the Secretary of the Board.
