Approval of Revolving Amber Light

PURSUANT to regulation 39 (6) of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of one revolving yellow or amber light on survey vehicles, used by the Department of Lands and Survey, subject to the following conditions:

  1. The light shall be used only when a survey party is on the roadway and constitutes a hazard to other road users, and shall be extinguished as soon as the party is no longer causing a hazard.
  2. The vehicle shall be parked as close as possible to the survey party.
  3. The vehicle shall be painted a conspicuous colour.
  4. Suitable and adequate warning signs shall be erected to warn traffic in both directions from the survey party.
  5. The light shall not be used when the vehicle is in motion.

Licensing the Waikato Valley Authority to Occupy a Site for a Boat Ramp on the Waikato River at Meremere

PURSUANT to section 162 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby license and permit the Waikato Valley Authority (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the bed of the Waikato River at Meremere, as shown on plan marked M.D. (N) 219, and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Auckland, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a boat ramp as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

CONDITIONS

(1) This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

(2) The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day of August 1976.

(3) The annual sum so payable by the licensee shall be 10 cents ($0.10) payable upon demand, provided always that the Minister may review the annual sum payable at the end of the first year or any subsequent year of the said term.

Alteration in Frequency of Sittings, Magistrate’s Court, Blenheim

PURSUANT to section 22 (1) of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947, the Minister of Justice has approved that, as from 1 October 1976, the Magistrate’s Court at Blenheim shall sit alternatively two or three consecutive days a fortnight.

Alteration in Frequency of Sittings, Magistrate’s Court, Kaikoura

PURSUANT to section 22 (1) of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1947, the Minister of Justice has approved that, as from 1 October 1976, the Magistrate’s Court at Kaikoura shall sit on one day every two months.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 33 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank, acting with the approval of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that as from the close of business on 1 October 1976, and until further notice, each trading bank shall maintain on average during each calendar month balances at the Reserve Bank plus holdings of Reserve Bank notes and of New Zealand Government securities together equal to an amount which shall not be less than the aggregate of:

27 per cent of that bank’s average demand deposit liabilities in New Zealand in the immediately preceding calendar month as shown by the average of the weekly returns of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955, plus

15 per cent of that bank’s average time deposit liabilities in New Zealand in the immediately preceding calendar month as shown by an average of the weekly returns of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955.

For the purposes of this notice:

(1) The monthly average of a trading bank’s holdings of Reserve Bank notes shall be the average of the figures as shown by the weekly returns of Banking Statistics under the Statistics Act 1955 for that bank received in the calendar month to which the requirement applies.
