Plants Declared Noxious under the Noxious Weeds Act
1950 in the Thames-Coromandel District (No. 1525 Ag.
12/10/4/1)
Pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and
Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fish-
eries Act 1953, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act
1950, the following Special Order, made by the Thames-
Coromandel District Council on the 28th day of July 1976,
is hereby published.
SPECIAL ORDER
That pursuant to the powers and authorities vested in it
by the Counties Act 1956, the Noxious Weeds Act 1950,
and all other powers and authorities in any way enabling
it, the Thames-Coromandel District Council hereby resolves
by way of Special Order as follows:
That all previous resolutions passed by the Thames County
Council and the Coromandel County Council for the pur-
pose of declaring specified plants to be noxious weeds in
the respective Counties, shall be revoked;
That the following plants, mentioned or included in the
First Schedule to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, are hereby
declared to be noxious weeds within the Thames-Coromandel
District:
Australian sedge (Carex longebrachiata).
Barley grass (Hordeum murinum).
Bathurst bur (Xanthium spinosum).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Cut-leaved psoralea (Psoralea pinnata).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus monogyna).
Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Mist flower or Mexican devil (Eupatorium adenophorum).
Nassella tussock (Nassella trichotoma).
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
St John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum).
Star thistle (Centaurea calcitrapa).
Sweet brier (Rosa eglanteria).
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).
Welted thistle (Carduus crispus).
Winged thistle (Carduus tenuiflorus and Carduus pycno-
cephalus).
Woolly nightshade (Solanum auriculatum).

Plant Declared a Noxious Weed under the Noxious Weeds
Act 1950 in the County of Inglewood (No. 1539 Ag.
12/10/4/3)
Pursuant to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and
Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries
Act 1953, for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950,
the following special order made by the Inglewood County
Council on the 13th day of July 1976 is hereby published.
SPECIAL ORDER
That, pursuant to section 3 (3) of the Noxious Weeds Act
1950, the Inglewood County Council resolves by way of special
order that the following additional plant be declared a noxious
weed within the County of Inglewood:
Thorn apple (Datura stramonium).

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the under-
signed Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers
delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister
of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local
authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole
or any part of the respective amounts specified in that
Schedule.

Temporary Protection of Industry
The Emergency Protection Authority has reported, in terms
of section 10b of the Industries Development Commission
Act 1961 and its amendments, concerning the following goods:
Liquefied petroleum gas storage tanks of Tariff item
73.24.000.
In this report the Emergency Protection Authority con-
cluded that urgent action is not necessary to protect the
New Zealand industry producing these goods. The Govern-
ment has accepted this report and the rates of duty for
Tariff item 73.24.000 remain unchanged.
