Notice of Approval of Bylaws

PURSUANT to section 8A of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby approve the amended Matamata County Council (Lake Waters Control) Bylaw 1968, adopted by the Matamata County Council on 20 July 1976.

Describing the Boundaries of the Waitomo Abattoir District and Specifying the Waitomo District Council as the Controlling Authority of the Said District (No. 1527 Ag. 15/10/2/40)

PURSUANT to section 15 (5) of the Meat Act 1964, and to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries for the purpose of the said subsection, I hereby give notice as follows:

  1. The Waitomo Abattoir District shall henceforth comprise:
    (a) All the area in the Waitomo District, as from time to time constituted, but excluding the Piopio community and also all that area within a distance of 5 kilometres from the boundary of the Piopio community, and
    (b) That portion of the County of Otorohanga situated within a radius of 8 kilometres of the meeting point of the Waitomo District boundary, the Otorohanga County boundary, and State Highway 3.

  2. The Waitomo District Council shall continue to be the controlling authority of the Waitomo abattoir.

Exemption from the Restrictions as to Flashing Red Lights

PURSUANT to regulation 25A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts from the requirement of regulation 34 (4) in terms of regulation 39 (2) of the said regulations, vehicles described in the Schedule hereto to the effect that they may be equipped with one or more flashing or revolving red lights, for use only in emergency situations where threat to life exists.

SCHEDULE

Mines Department rescue vehicle, based at the Mines Rescue Station, Rotowaro, and subject to the vehicle being substantially white in colour and displaying the words “Mines Rescue”.

National Roads Board—Declaring State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

It is notified that the National Roads Board, by resolution dated 18 August 1976, and pursuant to section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby declares that part of No. 5 State Highway (Tirau to Napier) from the Rotorua County Boundary (3A/3B Roads District Boundary) to its intersection with the eastern boundary of part Okoheriki 2D3A Block, approximately 200 metres east of Tarukenga Road, as more particularly shown on Sheets 1 to 10 of Plan L.A. 25/56/1 and accompanying schedule held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Rotorua, and there available for public inspection, to be a limited access road.
