Adding Land to Nelson Lakes National Park

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 6th day of September 1976
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 10 of the National Parks Act 1952, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land, described in the Schedule hereto, shall, as from the date hereof, be added to and form part of Nelson Lakes National Park and shall hereafter be managed, administered, and dealt with by the Nelson Lakes National Park Board in accordance with the provisions of the said Act.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT—WAIMEA COUNTY
PART Sections 1, 2, 3, and Section 4, Block V, Rotoiti Survey District, and Section 1, Block VIII, Arnaud Survey District, being all of the land in certificate of title, Volume 75, folio 14, Nelson Registry (now cancelled): area, 185.9732 hectares, more or less.
Also, resumed road passing through and adjoining Deposited Plan 2310, part Sections 1, 2, 3, and Section 4, Block V, Rotoiti Survey District, and Section 1, Block VIII, Arnaud Survey District, as shown on Survey Office Plan 11924: area, 6.5337 hectares, more or less.
Also, bed of Travers River in Block V, Rotoiti Survey District, and Block VIII, Arnaud Survey District, as shown marked A. and B. on Survey Office Plan 12055: area, 15.0570 hectares, more or less.
Total area, 207.5639 hectares, more or less.

To Our Trusty and Well-beloved the Right Honourable Sir THADDEUS PEARCEY McCARTHY, Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, of Wellington, Doctor IAN DOUGLAS BLAIR, Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, of Christchurch, VIVIENNE MYRA BOYD, of Lower Hutt, Professor BRUCE SWEEN LILEY, of Hamilton, and LINDSAY AITKEN RANDERSON, of Wellington:
GREETING:
Know ye that We, reposing trust and confidence in your integrity, knowledge, and ability, do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint you, the said the Right Honourable Sir THADDEUS PEARCEY McCARTHY, IAN DOUGLAS BLAIR, VIVIENNE MYRA BOYD, BRUCE SWEEN LILEY, and LINDSAY AITKEN RANDERSON to be a Commission to inquire into and report upon the likely consequences of a nuclear power programme and, in so doing, to consider such matters as siting, licensing, environmental effects, safety factors, transport of fuel and waste, disposal of waste, and any other matters which the Commission decides should be brought to the attention of His Excellency the Governor-General:
And We hereby appoint you the said the Right Honourable Sir THADDEUS PEARCEY McCARTHY to be the Chairman of the said Commission:
And for better enabling you to carry these presents into effect you are hereby authorised and empowered to make and conduct any inquiry or investigation under these presents in such manner and at such time and place as you think expedient, with power to adjourn from time to time and place to place as you think fit, and so that these presents shall continue in force and any such inquiry may at any time and place be resumed although not regularly adjourned from time to time or from place to place:
And you are hereby strictly charged and directed that you shall not at any time publish or otherwise disclose, save to His Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance of these presents or by His Excellency's direction, the contents of
any report so made or to be made by you, or any evidence or information obtained by you in the exercise of the powers hereby conferred on you, except such evidence or information as is received in the course of a sitting open to the public:
And it is hereby declared that the powers hereby conferred shall be exercisable notwithstanding the absence at any time of any one or any two of the members hereby appointed so long as the Chairman or a member deputed by the Chairman to act in his stead, and two other members, are present and concur in the exercise of the powers:
And We do further ordain that you have liberty to report your proceedings and findings under this Our Commission from time to time if you shall judge it expedient to do so:
And, using all due diligence, you are required to report to His Excellency the Governor-General in writing under your hands, not later than the 31st day of December 1977 your findings and opinions on the matters aforesaid:
And, lastly, it is hereby declared that these presents are issued under the authority of the letters patent of His Late Majesty King George the Fifth, dated the 11th day of May 1917, and under the authority of and subject to the provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Act 1908, and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand.
In witness whereof We have caused this Our Commission to be issued and the Seal of New Zealand to be hereunto affixed at Wellington this 13th day of September 1976.

Surrendering Lease No. 11570 in the Otago Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

Pursuant to Section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby surrender the lease described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
All those pieces of land containing together nine hundred and fourteen acres one rood thirty two decimal five perches (370,066 hectares) more or less, situated partly in the Borough of Kaitangata, being Sections 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20; parts Section 14, and closed roads Block 9, Kaitangata District, and part Section 4, Block 3, North Molyneux District, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, register book, Volume 328, folio 146, held under lease No. 11570, is hereby surrendered.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 2nd day of September 1976.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces:
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Commander Edmund Burrows is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 15 June 1976.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander Alan McKay Graham is terminated, with effect from 25 June 1976.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander T. C. M. Raven is extended to 19 December 1979.
