Charitable Trusts Act 1957
AIGANTIGHE ART GALLERY AND GARDENS TRUST
NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 36 of the above Act, that an application under the above Act has been filed in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Timaru by the Timaru City Council for the approval of a variation of the powers of the Council under deeds of trust, dated the 26th day of October 1955, and the 25th day of March 1957, made between James William Grant, of Timaru, retired sheep farmer now deceased, and the Council and which deeds relate to the Aigantighe Art Gallery and Gardens in Wai-iti Road, Timaru.
The Council is seeking the approval of the Supreme Court of New Zealand to a scheme, under the said Act, whereby the powers of the Council are extended to enable it to build extensions to the art gallery on a greater area of land than that permitted by the said deeds of trust, particulars of the area sought being set out in the application.
Details of the application and variation sought may be inspected at the offices of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Timaru during office hours.
The application was filed on the 2nd day of October 1975, and the proposed date for hearing of the application is the 17th day of November 1975.
Any person desiring to oppose the scheme is required to give written notice of his intention to do so to the Registrar of the said Court at Timaru, to the said Council at the address of the undersigned, and to the Attorney-General for New Zealand, care of the Crown Law Office, Wellington, not less than 7 clear days before the 17th day of November 1975.
