shall be established within the Urban Division accounts a special fund to be known as the Urban Farm Endowment Land Special Fund.

  1. Any liability arising from litigation concerning the Thames Borough Council or its affairs shall be the responsibility of the Urban Division.

  2. For the purposes of the Local Authorities (Petroleum Tax) Act 1970:

(a) The Thames-Coromandel District shall be deemed always to have been a constituent district of the Waikato-Coromandel Tax area;

(b) The rate revenue of the Thames-Coromandel District for the previous financial year shall be deemed to be the sum of the rate revenue for that period of Thames Borough, Thames County, and Coromandel County.

  1. Any surpluses or compensation accruing or payable to the district council in respect of the electricity undertaking shall accrue to the Urban Division; and any liability in respect of that undertaking shall be the responsibility of the Urban Division.

  2. All sums advanced from special accounts of the Thames Borough Council for the purposes of the municipal abattoir shall be repayable in accordance with the terms on which they were advanced to the corresponding special accounts of the Urban Division; and any proceeds from the sale of the abattoir or the land on which it is situated shall be credited to the Urban Division; and any liability arising in respect of the abattoir shall be the responsibility of the Urban Division.

  3. Any dividends payable in respect of any shares owned by any of the uniting authorities, and any proceeds from the sale of such shares, shall accrue to the corresponding Division, and any liability attaching to any such shares shall be the responsibility of that Division.

  4. Except as otherwise provided in this order the provisions of section 10 of the Counties Act 1956 (which relate to the succession of the united district) shall apply to the union of districts as if Thames Borough were a county.

  5. All property, real and personal, vested in the name of the corporations of Thames Borough, Thames County, and Coromandel County shall become vested, subject to all existing encumbrances, in the corporation of the Thames-Coromandel District.

  6. The functions performed by the Thames Borough Council as the Thames Harbour Board shall become functions of the district council which shall thereupon become the harbour board for the Thames Harbour District and the Thames Harbour Board shall be dissolved.

  7. The district council shall have the same rights, powers, and duties in relation to the supply of gas as if it were a borough.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the North Auckland and South Auckland Land Districts comprising the islands of Hauturu, Slipper, Shoe, The Aldermen, Ohena, Mercury, Cuvier, Channel, Motu-oruhi, Waimate, Whanganui, and all other islands adjacent thereto and to Thames County and Coromandel County.

PURSUANT to the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Change of Name of the Wairarapa and East Coast Pastoral and Agricultural Society.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The name of the Society which was incorporated under the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act 1908 as the Wairarapa and East Coast Pastoral and Agricultural Society is hereby changed to the Wairarapa Agricultural and Pastoral Society.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Invercargill City Hydatids Control District Order 1975.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. The area comprising the City of Invercargill as from time to time constituted is hereby declared to be a hydatids control district to be called the Invercargill City Hydatids Control District.

  2. The Invercargill City Council is hereby appointed the hydatids control authority for the Invercargill City Hydatids Control District.

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Pests of Local Importance Order 1975.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  1. (1) The opossum is hereby declared a pest of local importance in the Agricultural Pest Destruction Districts specified in the First Schedule hereto.

(2) The hare is hereby declared a pest of local importance in the Agricultural Pest Destruction Districts specified in the Second Schedule hereto.
