Fixing Investment Period and Rate of Interest Under National
Savings Act 1940
PURSUANT to section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940,
the Minister of Finance hereby prescribes as follows—
(a) The thirty-sixth investment period during which invest-
mments by way of deposits in investment accounts
may be made shall be the period of 1 year com-
mencing on the lst day of July 1975 and ending
on the 30th day of June 1976;
(b) Subject to the provisions of the said Act, the rate
of interest to be paid on such investments made
during such investment period shall be 3½ percent
per annum;
(c) Subject to the provisions of the said Act, moneys
invested as aforesaid during such investment period
shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1978,
provided that where interest is not withdrawn by
the investor in accordance with section 8 (2) of the
said Act and is added to and becomes part of the
principal moneys of the investor under section 8
(3) of the said Act, the amount of such interest,
together with any interest thereon, shall be repayable
on the 30th day of June 1977.

Authorising Certain Trustee Savings Banks to Receive
Investments Under National Savings Act 1940
PURSUANT to section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940,
the Minister of Finance hereby authorises the Boards of
Trustees of the under-mentioned savings banks (being savings
banks established under the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948)
to receive investments by way of deposits in investment
accounts under the said Act during the investment period
commencing on the 1st day of July 1975 and ending on
the 30th day of June 1976:
Auckland Savings Bank,
Taranaki Savings Bank,
Otago Savings Bank, and
Southland Savings Bank.

Amending Proclamations Setting Apart Land as State Forest
PURSUANT to section 21 of the Forests Act 1949, and in
accordance with redefinition surveys as given effect to in the
Third Schedule hereto, notice is hereby given that as from
the date of this notice the Proclamation referred to in the
First Schedule hereto is respectively amended by revoking
those parts of the descriptions as are set out in the Second
Schedule hereto and substituting those descriptions set out
in the Third Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
FIRSTLY, the Proclamation issued on the 13th day of August
1898 and published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 15th
day of September 1898 commencing at p. 1457.
NOTE: See the seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth item under
the heading “Canterbury” on p. 1461 of the relevant Gazette.
SECOND SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY—
WAITAKI COUNTY
Revoked Parts
FIRSTLY, all that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land
District, containing about 7,000 acres, and numbered 3338
(in red), in the Hunter and Stafford Survey Districts. Bounded
on the eastward by the Ahuriri River; and on the southward,
westward, and northward by straight lines to cover the forest
on the west bank of the said river, extending as far south
as Trig. D, Stafford Survey District.
Secondly, all that parcel of land in the Canterbury land
District, containing about 2,000 acres, and numbered 3339
(in red), in the Hunter and Stafford Survey Districts. Bounded
on the westward by the Ahuriri River; and on the north-
ward, eastward, and southward by lines to cover the principal
forest on the east bank of the said river.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT—SOUTHLAND CONSERVANCY—WAITAKI
COUNTY
Substituted Parts
