The Royal Society of New Zealand
Pursuant to the Royal Society of New Zealand Act 1965,
the Fellows of the Royal Society of New Zealand, at the
annual general meeting held on 14 May 1975 passed a resolution
amending the rules of the Society published in the
Gazette on 22 December 1965, the effect of such resolution being
SECTION J.—THE ENCOURAGEMENT OF RESEARCH
RULE J. vii 8 was amended to read:
Applications or nominations for the award shall be in
writing and must reach the General Secretary of the Society
not later than 31 December of the year preceding the year
of the Award but the Council may waive this condition if it
deems fit. Such applications or nominations shall be supported
by two copies of the publication to be submitted for consideration
by the Selection Committee.

Approval of Bylaws
Pursuant to sections 8A and 165 of the Harbours Act 1950,
I, Grant Stewart Ellis Milne of the Ministry of Transport,
in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport
hereby approve the Christchurch City Bylaw No. 50 (A) as
adopted at a meeting of the council held on the 17th day
of March 1975 and confirmed by the council on 21 April
1975.

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards
Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft
New Zealand Standard specification is being circulated:

DZ 5412 Loading door aperture dimensions of vehicles used
for transporting meat. Metric units.
All persons who may be affected by this specification and
who may desire to comment thereon may, upon application,
obtain a copy on loan from the Standards Association of
New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15–23 Sturdee Street (or
Private Bag), Wellington. Additional copies are obtainable
at 50c a copy from the same address.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 18 June

Revocation
NOTICE is hereby given that the New Zealand standard specifications listed in the Schedule hereto have been reviewed by committees of the Standards Council and have been recommended for revocation, pursuant to the provisions of the Standards Act 1965.
Any person who may be affected by the proposal to revoke
these standard specifications, and who wishes to object to
their revocation is invited to submit comments to the Standards
Association of New Zealand, Private Bag, Wellington, not
later than 12 June 1975.
