Notice Declaring Lands to be Infected Areas Under Potato Cyst Nematode Regulations 1974 (No. 1136 Ag. 61422)

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (1) of the Potato Cyst Nematode Regulations 1974, notice is hereby given that the following lands are declared to be infected areas:

(a) The land on which potato cyst nematode has been found—

(i) An area of 11 acres 1 rood 37 perches, or thereabouts, situated north of and adjoining Hills Road, Christchurch, in Block VII of the Christchurch Survey District, being part of Lot 14 on Deposited Plan 18863, part of Rural Sections 2804 and 6386, C.T. 11F/1030 (Canterbury Registry).

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (1) of the Potato Cyst Nematode Regulations 1974, notice is hereby given that the following lands are declared to be infected areas:

(a) The land on which pototo cyst nematode has been found-

(i) An area of 211 acres 2 roods 12 perches, or thereabouts, situated north of and adjoining Painter's Road, Halkett, in Block X of the Rolleston Survey District, being Rural Section 19095 and part of Rural Section 9173, C.T. 318/47 (Canterbury Registry).

(b) Other land within a radius of 80 kilometres of the land described in paragraph (a) above being-

(i) An area of 2 acres, or thereabouts, situated north of and adjoining Painter’s Road at the junction with Sandy Knolls Road, Halkett, in Block X of the Rolleston Survey District, being Lot 1 on plan deposited in the Lands Registry Office as No. 5142 part of Rural Section 9173, C.T. 318/48 (Canterbury Registry).

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds Under the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 in the City of Palmerston North (No. 1139 Ag. 20649A)

PURSUANT to a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries under the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Act 1953 for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the following Special Order, made by the Palmerston North City Corporation on the 28th day of April 1975 is hereby published.

SPECIAL ORDER

"In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 the Palmerston North City Council resolves by way of Special Order that within the boundaries of the City of Palmerston North plants mentioned in the Schedule hereinafter set out to be and are hereby declared to be noxious weeds for the purpose of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950 and its amendments.

SCHEDULE

Barberry (Berberis vulgaris).
Bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).
Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus and Rubus laciniatus).
Boxthorn (Lycium ferocissimum syn. Lycium horridum).
Burdock (Arctium any species).
Californian thistle (Cirsium arvense).
Common broom (Cytisus scoparius).
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).
Goat’s rue (Galega Officinalis).
Gorse (Ulex, any species).
Greater bindwood (Calystegia sepium).
Hawthorn (Crataegus oxyacantha and Crataegus mono-gyna).

Hemlock (Conium maculatum).
Milk thistle or variegated thistle (Silybum marianum).
Nodding thistle (Carduus nutans).
Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea).
Saffron thistle (Carthamus lanatus).
St John’s wort (Hypericum perforatum).
Scotch thistle or plume thistle (Cirsium lanceolatum).
Silver poplar (Populas alba var. nivea.).
Stinking mayweed (Anthemis cotula).
Sweetbrier (Rosa eglanteria syn. Rosa rubiginosa).
Thorn apple or jimson weed (Datura stramonium).
Wild turnip (Brassica campestris)."

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.
