No. 837
Decision of the Indecent Publications Tribunal
IN the matter of the Indecent Publications Act 1963, and in the matter of an application by the Seven Seas Publishing Pty. Ltd. for a decision in respect of the following books: Sexual Fantasy by Ricardo Barros, published by Luxor Press Ltd., London; The Submissive by R. J. B. Krauss, published by Luxor Press Ltd., London; Way of a Virgin by L. C. Brovan, published by Luxor Press Ltd., London.
No appearance by either applicant or distributors, but written submissions were made by the applicant.
DECISION OF THE TRIBUNAL
Sexual Fantasy, The Submissive, Way of a Virgin
As Mr Downey said, in the only submissions made to us, these 3 paperback books can be considered together, although they are each slightly different in tone and quite different in subject matter.
The first of these describes and explains in psychoanalytic fashion various common and not so common fantasies or dreams on sexual subjects. The second is a short historical survey of woman’s alleged sexual subservience to man. The third is a collection of translations from folktales on sexual subjects.
Each of these books is serious in intent displaying an honest purpose without any special appeal to prurience or any likely corrupting effect.
The Tribunal classifies each of these books as not indecent.
L. M. GREIG, Chairman.
24 March 1975.
