NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CEASE TO HAVE A PLACE
OF BUSINESS IN NEW ZEALAND
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 405 of the Companies Act 1955, that:
OCEAN ACCIDENT & GUARANTEE CORPORATION LTD., a company incorporated in England;
THE INSURANCE OFFICE OF AUSTRALIA LTD., a company incorporated in Australia;
UNION ASSURANCE SOCIETY LTD., a company incorporated in England;
NORTHERN ASSURANCE COMPANY LTD., a company incorporated in England; and
NORTH BRITISH AND MERCANTILE INSURANCE COMPANY LTD., a company incorporated in England
all of which companies have their respective place of business for New Zealand at Wellington, intend to cease to have a place of business in New Zealand on the expiration of 3 months from the date of the first publication of this notice.
It should be noted that the New Zealand assets, liabilities, and business of the above five companies has been transferred to the parent company, the Commercial Union Assurance Company Ltd.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CHANGE THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH LAND WAS ACQUIRED
IN the matter of the Public Works Act 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and their respective amendments.
Notice is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf to change the purpose for which the land described in the Schedule hereto was acquired, namely, for the purposes of a waterworks, to some other purpose, namely, a pleasure ground. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said land is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Municipal Offices Building, 5 Mercer Street in the said City, and is there open for public inspection without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours. And that all persons objecting to the proposal are required to lodge their objections in writing at the offices of the said Town Clerk within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice. And that notification of a date and time for the hearing of any objections will be forwarded to each objector.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land containing five thousand eight hundred and forty six (5,846 square metres) square metres being part Section 2, Upper Kaiwharawhara District, situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 427, folio 74, and being more particularly shown on S.O. Plan 30554 and thereon marked ‘A’, and being also land situated in the vicinity of the top of Campbell Street, in the City of Wellington.

And notice is hereby further given that if any objection is made as aforesaid a public hearing of that objection will be held unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of that hearing and at that hearing each objector will be advised of the reasons for the proposed taking.

TAPANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE
Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, section 47 (1)
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Tapanui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of $15,000 authorised to be raised by the said council under the afore-mentioned Act, such loan to be used for the building of a new fire station, the said council hereby makes a special rate of one decimal nought three (1.03) cents in the dollar upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Tapanui; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of the loan and shall be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ACQUIRE LAND FOR STREET
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wanganui City Council intends to undertake certain work namely a street and for the purpose of such work the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, and notice is further given that a plan showing the land proposed to be taken is deposited at the offices of the said council situated at Guyton Street, Wanganui, and may there be inspected without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the proposed work or by the taking of the said land and who have any objections thereto (not being an objection to the amount of payment of compensation) must state their objection in writing and send the same to the Secretary, Town and Country Planning Appeal Board, P.O. Box 12-244, Wellington North, so as to reach him not later than 40 days after the first publication of this notice. If any objection is received the public hearing of the same will be held unless the objector requires otherwise and each objector will be advised the time and place of such hearing.
SCHEDULE
All those parcels of land situate in the Land Registration District of Wellington and the City of Wanganui containing:
Firstly, one hundred and sixty-five square metres (165 square metres) adjoining Lot 3 and part Lot 2, Deposited Plan 13435, and shown marked “A” on S.O. Plan No. 30026, and
Secondly, eighty six square metres (86 square metres) adjoining Lot 2, Deposited Plan 25696, and shown marked “B” on S.P. Plan No. 30026.
The land described is situated on Virginia Road at its junction with Hillside Terrace.
