The Traffic (Manukau City-Pakuranga and Clevedon Wards)
Notice No. 2, 1975

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Manukau City - Pakuranga and Clevedon Wards) Notice No. 2, 1975.

  2. All the roads in the Pakuranga and Clevedon Wards of Manukau City, with the exception of those roads contained in the areas specified in the First and Second Schedules hereto and those roads specified in the said First and Second Schedules are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, during the period commencing with the Wednesday following Easter each year and ending with the following 30th day of November.

  4. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometre-per-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, during the period commencing with the Wednesday following Easter each year and ending with the following 30th day of November.

  5. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70-kilometre-per-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  6. So much of the Traffic (Manukau City) Notice No. 1, 1975, dated the 23rd day of May 1975† under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relates to roads situated within Manukau City in the Pakuranga and Clevedon Wards is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within the Pakuranga and Clevedon Wards of Manukau City.
AT Ardmore:

All the area at Ardmore consisting of the area of land formerly occupied by the School of Engineering, University of Auckland, and the area of land formerly occupied by the Ardmore Teachers College.

AT Bucklands Beach, Eastern Beach, and Half Moon Bay:

All that area at Bucklands Beach, Eastern Beach, and Half Moon Bay bounded by a line commencing at the point where the northern boundary of Howick Borough meets the shore of the Hauraki Gulf: thence south-westerly generally along that boundary to the south-western side of Cherry Road: thence north-westerly generally along the said side of Cherry Road to a point opposite the southern end of Minaret Drive; thence across Cherry Road at right angles from its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence northerly generally by a right line to a point on the northern side of Gills Road at its junction with the eastern side of Bucklands Beach Road; thence northerly generally along the eastern side of Bucklands Beach Road to a point 60 metres measured southerly generally along the said road from Richard Avenue; thence across Bucklands Beach Road at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence south-westerly generally by a right line to the eastern end of Half Moon Rise; thence westerly generally along the southern side of Half Moon Rise to its intersection with Pigeon Mountain Road; thence across Pigeon Mountain Road at right angles from its eastern side to its western side; thence southerly generally along the western side of Pigeon Mountain Road to a point 300 metres measured northerly generally along the said roadside from Fortunes Road; thence due west by a right line to the shore of the Tamaki River; thence northerly generally along the shore of the said river and south-easterly generally along the shore of the Hauraki Gulf to the commencing point.

AT Beachlands:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the northern side of Beachlands Road, 100 metres measured south-easterly generally along the said roadside from Shelly Bay Road; thence north-easterly generally by a right line across the eastern end of Third View Avenue to the shore of the Hauraki Gulf; thence westerly generally along the said shore line to a point opposite the southern end of Puriri Road; thence by a right line to the southern end of Puriri Road; thence by a right line south-easterly generally to the western end of Karaka Road; thence south-easterly generally along the southern side of Karaka Road to its eastern end; thence northerly generally by a right line to the commencing point.

AT Clevedon:

Clevedon-Kawakawa Road: from Papakura-Clevedon Road to the entrance to the Clevedon Public School.

Papakura-Clevedon Road: from Hyde Road to North Road, East Road; from Papakura-Clevedon Road to Hyde Road. Hyde Road.

North Road: from Clevedon-Kawakawa Road to a point 360 metres measured northerly generally along North Road from Thorps Quarry Road.

Adjacent to Howick Borough:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern side of Botany Road at the southern boundary of Howick Borough; thence southerly generally along the said side of Botany Road for a distance of 800 metres; thence due east by a right line to the western side of Whitford Road; thence northerly generally along the said side of Whitford Road to the southern boundary of Howick Borough; thence westerly generally along the said boundary to the commencing point.

At Kawakawa Bay:

Clevedon-Kawakawa Bay Road: from Kawakawa Bay-Orere Road to a point 240 metres measured south-westerly generally along Clevedon-Kawakawa Bay Road from Kawakawa Bay-Orere Road.

Kawakawa Bay Coast Road: from Kawakawa Bay-Orere Road to a point 80 metres measured north-easterly generally along Kawakawa Bay Coast Road from Karaka Road.

Kawakawa Bay-Orere Road: from Clevedon-Kawakawa Bay Road to Bertram Road.

AT Maraetai:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the south-western side of Maraetai Coast Road, 1800 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said road from Rewa Road; thence across Maraetai Coast Road at right angles from its south-western side to its north-western side; thence due north by a right line to the shore of the Hauraki Gulf; thence north-westerly and westerly generally along the said shore line to a point due north of the end of Oman Beach Road; thence due south by a right line to the end of Oman Beach Road; thence southerly generally along the south-western side of Oman Beach Road to the northwestern side of Maraetai Drive; thence south-westerly generally along the said side of Maraetai Drive to a point 40 metres measured south-westerly generally along Maraetai Drive at right angles from its north-western side to its south-eastern side; thence south-westerly generally along the said roadside to the southern side of Maraetai School Road; thence easterly generally by a right line to the southern end of Rewa Road; thence easterly generally by a right line to the commencing point.

AT Pakuranga:

All that area with the exception of Butley Drive bounded by a line commencing at the south-western side of Pakuranga Road at the south-eastern end of the Panmure Bridge; thence southerly generally along the eastern bank of the Tamaki River to the northern bank of the Pakuranga Creek; thence easterly generally along the northern bank of the said creek to the south-western side of Cascades Road; thence across Cascades Road at right angles from its south-western side to its north-eastern side; thence north-westerly generally along the north-eastern side of Cascades Road to the south-eastern side of Pakuranga Road; thence across Pakuranga Road at right angles from its south-eastern side to its north-western side; thence north-easterly generally along the north-western side of Pakuranga Road to the south-western side of Fortunes Road; thence north-westerly generally along the south-western side of Fortunes Road to the southern side of Butley Drive; thence due north-west by a right line to the eastern bank of the Tamaki River; thence westerly and south-westerly generally along the eastern bank of the Tamaki River to the north-eastern side of Pakuranga Road at the south-eastern end of the Panmure Bridge; thence northwesterly generally along the north-eastern side of the Panmure Bridge to the north-western end of the said bridge; thence across the Panmure Bridge at right angles from its north-eastern side to its south-western side; thence south-easterly generally along the south-western side of the Panmure Bridge to the commencing point.

AT Sandspit:

All that area at Sandspit bounded by a line commencing at a point where the southern boundary of Howick Borough meets the shore of the Hauraki Gulf; thence westerly generally along that boundary to a point 40 metres measured south-westerly generally from the end of Sandspit Road; thence southerly generally by a right line to a point on the western side of Somerville Road, 60 metres measured southerly generally along the said roadside from Sandspit Road; thence across Somerville Road at right angles from its western side to its eastern side; thence due east by a right line to a point
