Declaration of Vehicle with Motor Cycle Controls to be a Motor Cycle

PURSUANT to section 2 of the Transport Act 1962, the Secretary for Transport hereby declares that the vehicle described in the Schedule hereto, having motor cycle controls, is a motor cycle for the purpose of the said Act.

The notice dated the 30th day of May 1975*, relating to the declaration of a vehicle with motor cycle controls to be a motor cycle, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

The vehicle with motor cycle controls known as “Mypaben Freight Scooter”.

The Motor Launch (Manawatu River) Notice 1975—Manawatu Catchment Board

PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962,* I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby give the following notice:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Manawatu River) Notice 1975.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on and from the 5th day of December 1975.

  2. The areas described in the First and Second Schedules hereto shall be exempted from the regulations specified in those Schedules and the area described in the Third Schedule hereto shall be a reserved area for water skiing, in each case for a period of 1 year, excepting thereout 1 week prior to any duck shooting season and the first week of any such season and such areas shall be marked in the manner described in the First Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

All that area of water in the Manawatu River from the lower end of the Whirikino Cut to the river mouth except within 200 ft of the waters edge at the river banks shall be exempted from regulation 11(b) and 11 (c) of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962.

SECOND SCHEDULE

All that area of water in the Manawatu River from the Whirikino trestle bridge to a point marked with a notice board approximately 1½ miles upstream shall be exempted from regulations 11(b) and 11(c), 12(b) and 12(c) of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962.

THIRD SCHEDULE

All that area of water in the Manawatu River from the Whirikino trestle bridge to a point marked with a notice board ¾ mile approximately downstream.

FOURTH SCHEDULE

Suitable notices shall be erected at the limits of the areas described in the foregoing Schedules to this notice and setting out the extent of the exemption or the nature of the reservation as the case may be.

Exemption from the Restrictions as to Flashing Red Lights

Pursuant to regulation 25A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts from the requirements of regulation 34 (4) in terms of regulation 39 (2) of the said regulations vehicles described in the Schedule hereto to the effect that they may be equipped with:

(a) Two flashing red lights at the front of and shining directly ahead of the vehicle;
(b) One or more flashing or revolving red lights on the top of the vehicle and visible in all directions.

SCHEDULE

VEHICLES equipped for ambulance duty and approved by the Ambulance Transport Advisory Board for use while on urgent ambulance service.

Cancellation of Registration as a Teacher

Pursuant to section 135 (1) of the Education Act 1964, the name of Timothy Martin Andersen has been removed from the Teachers Register, and his Teachers Certificate has been cancelled.
