The Mangawhero and Mangawheroiti Streams Pollution Control Order 1975

At the Government House at Wellington this 24th day of November 1975

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 61 of the Health Act 1956, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Mangawhero and Mangawheroiti Streams Pollution Control Order 1975. (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  2. Control of the Mangawhero and Mangawheroiti Streams—All those portions of the Mangawhero and Mangawheroiti Streams and their tributaries which are within the boundaries of the land described in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be under the control of the Waimate West County Council for the purpose of preventing the pollution of those portions of those streams and their tributaries.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District situated in the Counties of Eltham and Stratford, being that portion of the watershed of the Mangawheroiti Stream and its tributaries from the boundary of the Egmont National Park to the existing intake of the supply of water to the County of Waimate West.

All that area situated in the County of Eltham, being that portion of the watershed of the Mangawhero Stream and its tributaries from the boundary of the Egmont National Park to the Gabion Weir.

The said areas being more particularly delineated by lines marked Pollution Control Boundary and Pollution Control Bdy respectively on a plan held in the Head Office cf the Department of Health at Wellington and numbered 124/9/15 (being a copy of Survey Office Plan 10475).

PURSUANT to section 64B (2) of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1966 (as inserted by section 6 of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act 1970), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and on the advice of the Minister of Local Government given at the request of the Porirua District Licensing Trust, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. Title—This order may be cited as the Local Elections and Polls (Postal Voting) Order (No. 3) 1975.

  2. Porirua District Licensing Trust authorised to conduct poll by postal vote—The Returning Officer of the Porirua District Licensing Trust is hereby authorised to conduct by postal vote a by-election to be held in the Porirua Licensing Trust District on the 20th day of December 1975 to fill the vacancy in Ward One of that Trust District caused by the resignation of Whitford James Brown.

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirement of officers of the New Zealand Army:

ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS

Captain D. W. Smith to be temp. Major with effect from 25 August 1975.

ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT

Captain Harley Kyle Pope is posted to the Retired List with effect from 9 September 1975.

Lieutenant T. W. Patrick to be acting Captain with effect from 27 September 1975.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) K. P. Rawlings to be Captain with seniority from 20 December 1974 and effect from 21 July 1975.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

Major J. S. Rea, E.D., M.B., CH.B.: the notice published in the Gazette, 17 July 1975, No. 60, p. 1575, is cancelled and the following substituted:

“Major J. S. Rea, E.D., M.B., CH.B., is transferred to the Supernumerary List with effect from 13 July 1972, and his engagement is extended to 18 February 1977.

Captain K. G. Couper, M.B., CH.B., D.A., is re-engaged until 19 October 1975.

Captain Terence John Verrall is transferred to the Territorial Force with effect from 1 September 1975.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster J. S. Moyle to be temp. Captain and Quartermaster with effect from 28 July 1975.

ROYAL N.Z. DENTAL CORPS

Lieutenant I. M. Brown, B.D.S., is re-engaged on a special dental engagement to expire on 13 October 1976.

N.Z. ARMY LEGAL SERVICE

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) C. J. McGuire, LL.B., to be Captain with seniority and effect from 9 December 1974.
