The Havelock North High School Board of Governors Notice 1975
Pursuant to section 54 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Havelock North High School Board of Governors Notice 1975.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of December 1975.

  2. There shall be a Board of Governors for Havelock North High School which shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board;
(b) Five members elected by the parents of pupils attending the Havelock North High School;
(c) One member appointed by the Havelock North Borough Council;
(d) Two members co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. The Hastings High Schools Board shall cease to control Havelock North High School and the sole control of that school shall be vested in the Board of Governors constituted by clause 2 of this notice.

  2. The control of Havelock North Secondary School Notice* is hereby revoked.

New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association (Inc.)
In pursuance and exercise of the power contained in section 101 of the Racing Act 1971, the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association (Inc.) resolves to and does hereby make the following rules controlling the admission of persons to all racecourses used by racing clubs which are now or may at any time hereafter be registered with the said New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association (Inc.).

RULES

UNDER THE RACING ACT 1971

  1. These rules shall come into force on the day after the day on which they are published in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. In these rules the words “racecourse”, “racing club”, and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Racing Act 1971 and

the word “bookmaker” shall have the meaning ascribed thereto by the Gaming Act 1908 or any subsequent Act consolidating or in substitution of such Act.

  1. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded from all racecourses used by racing clubs which are now or may at any time hereafter be registered with the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association (Inc.) while such racecourses, or any thereof, are being used by any club for a race meeting, namely:

(a) All persons under disqualification imposed under the New Zealand Rules of Racing or the New Zealand Rules of Trotting or the New Zealand Rules of Greyhound Racing or by the racing or trotting or greyhound authorities in any country outside New Zealand which have reciprocal agreements in matters of racing or trotting or greyhound racing with the New Zealand Racing Conference or the New Zealand Trotting Conference or the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association (Inc.).

(b) Bookmakers.
(c) Persons convicted of theft, burglary, receiving stolen goods, robbery, unlawfully taking or conversion of motorcar or other vehicles, false pretences, forgery, uttering, possession of counterfeit coin, or assault.
(d) Persons convicted of any offence under the Gaming Act 1908 or of the following offences under the Crimes Act 1961: murder, attempted murder, manslaughter (not based on negligence), sections 188–204 (which relate to assaults and injuries to the person), crimes involving dishonesty or conspiracy to commit a crime, indecent acts, sexual offences, and the reference to the foregoing Acts shall be deemed to apply to any subsequent Act consolidating or in substitution thereof.
(e) Persons convicted in countries outside New Zealand of offences corresponding to those mentioned in paragraph (d).

Provided always that a committee established by the New Zealand Greyhound Racing Association (Inc.) upon being satisfied as to the character and otherwise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of these rules should have relief from the effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person.

The foregoing Rules are hereby approved.

The Traffic (Whakatane County) Notice No. 3, 1975
Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Whakatane County) Notice No. 3, 1975.

  2. The area specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The area specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 70-kilometres-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  4. The Traffic (Whakatane County) Notice No. 5, 1969, dated the 12th day of August 1969†, and the Traffic (Whakatane County) Notice No. 1, 1973, dated the 12th day of December 1973‡, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956* which relate to an area at Ohiwa and a road at Ohope Beach, situated within Whakatane County, are hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE
Situated within Whakatane County at Ohope Beach:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at a point on the southern side of Wainui Road at the eastern end of the bridge over the Maraetotara Stream; thence north-westerly generally along the western side of Pohutukawa Avenue to the intersection of the said avenue with Whakatane-
