Hanmer Ward
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Amuri County, containing 393,500 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the Lewis Pass in Block VII, Boyle Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly generally along the summit of the Spenser Mountains to an unnamed peak, 6,059 feet, in Block II, Humboldt Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line through Trig. M.O. in Block IV, Maling Survey District, to the shore of Lake Tennyson; thence southerly and easterly generally along the generally western shore of that lake to and down the middle of the Clarence River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Run 279, “The Hossack”, in Block VI, Terako Survey District; thence south-westerly and westerly generally to and along that boundary and the generally southern boundary of Run 279 to the left bank of the Hanmer River in Block IV. Lyndon Survey District; thence north-westerly along a right line bearing 315 degrees to the middle of the Hanmer River; thence westerly generally and northerly generally along the middle of the Hanmer, Waiau, Hope, Boyle, and Lewis Rivers to the Lewis Pass, the point of commencement.
Amuri Ward
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Amuri, and Cheviot Counties, containing 79,800 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the north-western side of No. 7 State Highway in the middle of the Pahau River in Block X, Culverden Survey District and proceeding north-easterly along that roadside and the north-western side of No. 70 State Highway to the eastern boundary of Section 37, Culverden Settlement; thence northerly along that boundary and the eastern boundary of Section 1, Culverden Settlement, and its production to the middle of the Waiau River; thence easterly generally down the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 1, Block III, Lowry Peaks Survey District; thence south-westerly generally to and along that boundary, the north-western boundaries of Sections 1, 2, 11, and 10, Block VII, Lowry Peaks Survey District; the south-western boundary of Section 7, of the said Block VII to the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 37568; thence westerly generally along the generally northern boundaries of Rural Sections 37568, 37567, and 37566, and southerly along the western boundary of Rural Section 37566 to the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4355; thence south-westerly along that boundary and westerly along the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4353, to the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 4351; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of that lot to the summit of Lowry Peaks Range; thence south-westerly generally along the boundary between the Counties of Amuri and Cheviot, being the summit of that range, and the main spur leading to the Hurunui River to the foot of that spur; thence due west to the middle of the Hurunui River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river and the Pahau River to the point of commencement.
Cheviot Ward
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Cheviot, and Amuri Counties, containing 110,400 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Hurunui River due west of the foot of the main spur leading to Lowry Peaks Range in Block XV, Culverden Survey District, and proceeding due east to that foot; thence north-easterly generally along the boundary between the Counties of Amuri and Cheviot, being the summit of that spur and the aforementioned Lowry Peaks Range to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4351; thence south-easterly along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of that lot; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4353, and north-easterly along the north-western boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 4355, to the southernmost corner of Rural Section 37566; thence northerly along the western boundary of that section and easterly generally along the generally northern boundaries of Rural Sections 37566, 37567, and 37568, to the north-western boundary of Section 7, Block VII Lowry Peaks Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along that boundary, the south-western boundary of Section 10, and the generally north-western boundaries of the said Section 10,
and Sections 11, 2 and 1, Block VII, Lowry Peaks Survey District, and Section 1, Block III, Lowry Peaks Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Waiau River; thence south-easterly down the middle of that river to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence south-westerly along that high-water mark to the middle of the Hurunui River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
Waiau Ward
All that area in the Canterbury and Marlborough Land District, Amuri County, containing 164,700 acres, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Hanmer and Waiau Rivers in Block V, Lyndon Survey District, and proceeding north-easterly up the middle of the Hanmer River to a point bearing 315 degrees from the junction of the generally southern boundary of Run 279 “The Hossack” and the left bank of the Hanmer River; thence south-easterly along a right line to that junction; thence easterly and north-easterly generally along the southern and south-eastern boundaries of Run 279 to the southern boundary of Run 208, “Cloudy Range”; thence easterly along that boundary to the middle of the Mason River; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point 1 mile due south of a point on the summit of a mountain range, bearing 205 degrees, distance 3½ miles from Trig. A, “Cloudy Range”, in Block XX, Acheron Survey District; thence due north to that point; thence north-easterly along the summit of the aforementioned range and the ridge leading into Palmer Saddle to the said saddle; thence southerly to and along the middle of the Conway River and south-westerly up the middle of the Gelt River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 884; thence south-westerly generally to and along that boundary, the north-western boundary of Lot 2, D.P., 2884, and the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 2884, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Gelt River; thence north-easterly down the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 15, Square 80; thence northerly to and along that boundary and westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 15 and 16, Square 80, and the part Section 48, Square 80, comprised in C.T. 19/39 (Amuri) to the easternmost corner of Section 4, Annan Settlement; thence south-westerly and westerly along the south-eastern and southern boundaries of that section to the north-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 2124; thence south-westerly generally along the western boundary of that lot and the north-western boundaries of Lot 4, D.P. 2161, and Lot 1, D.P. 6333, to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence due west to the middle of the original Leader-Waiau Road; thence south-westerly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Section 14, Annan Settlement; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Waiau River; thence north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to the point of commencement.
