a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 5,

north-easterly along a right line to and along that north-
western boundary and easterly along the northern boundaries
of that Lot 5 and Lot 6, D.P. 53169, to the left bank of
Brighams Creek; thence southerly along the left bank, to
and northerly generally along the right bank of Brighams
Creek, to and easterly and southerly generally along the line
of mean high water of the Waitemata Harbour and continu-
ing along the left bank of the Henderson Creek to its
junction with the southern boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 1263,
in Block XIV, Waitemata Survey District; thence westerly
along the southern boundary of that Lot 6, along a right line
across Lincoln Road, to and along the southern boundaries
of Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, D.P. 43328, and Lot 19,
D.P. 43329, to and southerly along the eastern boundary
and westerly along the southern boundary of Lot 2,
D.P. 36776, and the last boundary produced to the middle
of Rathgar Road; thence southerly along the middle of
Rathgar Road, to and north-westerly along the middle of
Swanson Road to a point in line with the south-eastern
boundary of Lot 9, D.P. 42241; thence south-westerly along

Boundaries of Waitemata, Otamatea, and Rodney Counties

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of
July 1974
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1967,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes
the following order.
ORDER
-
This order shall come into effect on 1 August 1974.
-
The area of the County of Waitemata described in the
First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the district of
that county and included in the district of the County of
Rodney. -
The area of the County of Otamatea described in the
Second Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the district
of that county and included in the district of the County
of Rodney. -
The area of the County of Rodney described in the Third
Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the district of that
county and included in the district of the County of Otamatea. -
All those islands described in the Fourth Schedule hereto
shall be included in the district of the County of Rodney. -
For the purpose of this order the district of the County
of Rodney as hereinbefore altered shall hereinafter be referred
to as the "said county". -
For the purpose of representation the said county shall
for a period of not less than three nor more than six years
be divided into 11 ridings with the following names and
boundaries:
(a) The Kaipara-Puhoi Riding comprising the area described
in the Fifth Schedule hereto.
(b) The Kourawhero-Tauhoa Riding comprising the area
described in the Sixth Schedule hereto.
(c) The Albert-Arai Riding comprising the area described
in the Seventh Schedule hereto.
(d) The Wellsford Riding comprising the area described in
the Eighth Schedule hereto.
(e) The Matakana Riding comprising the area described
in the Ninth Schedule hereto.
(f) The Hoteo Riding comprising the area described in the
Tenth Schedule hereto.
(g) The Omaha Riding comprising the area described in the
Eleventh Schedule hereto.
(h) The Wainui Riding comprising the area described in
the Twelfth Schedule hereto.
(i) The Kaukapakapa Riding comprising the area described
in the Thirteenth Schedule hereto.
(j) The Kumeu Riding comprising the area described in
the Fourteenth Schedule hereto.
(k) The Hibiscus Coast Riding comprising the area
described in the Fifteenth Schedule hereto.
- (a) Except as otherwise provided herein for the period
specified in clause 7 hereof the Council of the said county
(hereinafter referred to as the "said council") shall consist
of 18 members, and Riding representation shall be:
Kaipara-Puhoi Riding: 1 member.
Kourawhero-Tauhoa Riding: 1 member.
Albert-Arai Riding: 1 member.
Wellsford Riding: 1 member.
Matakana Riding: 3 members.
Hoteo Riding: 1 member.
Omaha Riding: 1 member.
Wainui Riding: 1 member.
Kaukapakapa Riding: 2 members.
Kumeu Riding: 4 members.
Hibiscus Coast Riding: 2 members.
(b) The areas described in the Eighth and Fifteenth
Schedules hereto shall be county boroughs to be known
respectively as the Wellsford County Borough and the
Hibiscus Coast County Borough, as if they had been so
declared and named, pursuant to the provisions of the
Counties Amendment Act 1968, and the Orewa County Town
shall cease to exist.

The first election of members of the said council and
the councils of the aforementioned county boroughs shall be
held on the date fixed for the next triennial election of mem-
bers of county councils, pursuant to the provisions of the
Local Elections and Polls Act 1966. -
Notwithstanding the provisions of clauses 7 and 8 hereof,
until the first triennial election of councillors following the
date on which the alteration of boundaries herein provided
takes effect, the ridings of the said county and the members
of the said council shall comprise 14 and 17 respectively
as follows:
(a) The Arai Riding, comprising the Arai Riding of Rodney
County existing on the date immediately prior to the date
on which the alteration of boundaries herein provided takes
effect, altered as a consequence of clauses 3 and 4 hereof,
together with such islands adjacent thereto, that are included
in the Fourth Schedule hereto. The representation to be
1 member who shall be the member of the Rodney County
Council elected to represent the Arai Riding of that county
and holding office on the date immediately prior to the date
on which the alteration of boundaries herein provided takes
effect.
(b) The Wellsford Riding, comprising the area of the
Wellsford County Borough of Rodney County existing on
the date immediately prior to the date on which the alteration
of boundaries herein provided takes effect. The representation
to be 1 member who shall be the member of the Rodney
County Council elected to represent the Wellsford Riding of
that county and holding office on the date immediately prior
to the date on which the alteration of boundaries herein
provided takes effect.
