Compulsory Stopping of Certain Vehicles at Railway
Crossings—Provision of Exemption

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 64 of the Transport
Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby declares that
nothing in subsection (1) of the said section 64 shall apply
with respect to the railway level crossing described in the
schedule hereto.

SITUATED WITHIN HAWKE'S BAY COUNTY
The railway level crossing on No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-
Wellington via Gisborne) at the Awatoto Shingle Plant.

Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work (Further Portion of the Otago Central Railway—Clyde Section) at Alexandra and Not Now Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in
the Schedule hereto to be Crown land, subject to the Land
Act 1948, as from the 25th day of January 1974.

Cancellation of a Licence to Use Water for the Purpose of Generating Electricity

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby cancels a licence dated the 14th day of
November 1969, authorising Bruce Edward Chapman-Cohen,
sheepfarmer, to use water for the purpose of generating
electricity (Gazette, 27 November 1969, p. 2368).

Amendment to the Consent to the Generation of Electricity by the Tauranga Joint Generation Committee by the Use of Water.

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby makes the following amendments to the
Consent to the Generation of Electricity by the Tauranga
Joint Generation Committee by the use of water*.

  1. Deleting from clause 6 the figures “3,000” and substituting the figures “5,000”.
  2. The General Description of Work is hereby amended
    by:
    (a) deleting the heading “Lloyd Mandeno Scheme” and
    substituting “Lower Mangapapa Station”;
    (b) deleting from clause (c) the figures “3,000” and substituting the figures “5,000”.

The Tauranga City Council and Tauranga Electric Power Board Water Power and Electric Lines Licence 1963, Amendment No. 5

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of
Electricity hereby makes the following amendments to the
Tauranga City Council and Tauranga Electric Power Board
Water Power and Electric Lines Licence 1963* (hereinafter referred to as “the principal order”) as amended by the amendments specified in the Schedule hereto:

  1. The principal order is hereby amended by deleting the words “Electrical Supply Regulations 1935” wherever they appear and substituting the words “Electrical Supply Regulations 1967”.
  2. Clause 2 of the principal order is hereby amended:
    (a) by adding after the words “Mangakarengorengo Rivers”
    the words “and McLaren Falls”;
    (b) by deleting the words “600 cu. ft. per second” and substituting the words “730 cu. ft. per second”.
  3. Clause 7 of the principal order is hereby amended by deleting the figures “21-01” and substituting the figures “15”.
  4. The First Schedule to the principal order is hereby amended by:
    (a) deleting subclause (b);
    (b) including in the First Schedule the following paragraphs:
    “(g) Lines for the transmission of electrical energy
    commencing at the Lloyd Mandeno Power Station
    situated in Block V, Otanewainuku Survey District,
    and proceeding in a generally north-easterly direction and joining the Mangapapa-McLarens Falls line described in subclause (a) hereof, as shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 896, deposited at the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington;
    (h) Lines for the transmission of electrical energy from the McLarens Falls Power Station and proceeding in a generally northerly direction to the Ruahihi Power Station, and then in a generally north-easterly direction to Greerton, as shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 897 deposited at the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.”
