Environmental Impact Report Notified—Maui Development

The Commission for the Environment gives notice that it
has received an environmental impact report on the construction of the offshore natural gas production platform
and shore processing installation for the Maui gas field.
Representations in writing on the environmental aspects of
the project, as it is explained in the report, will be received
at the office of the Commission, P.O. Box 12-042, Wellington,
until Friday, 16 August 1974.

Copies of the report may be obtained at the office of
the Shell BP and Todd Oil Services Ltd., P.O. Box 541,
New Plymouth.

Committee of Inquiry Into the Distribution of Motor Spirits
and Ancillary Products, Pursuant to the Trade and Industry Act 1956—Preliminary Notice of Intention to Call for Written Submissions

  1. The Minister of Trade and Industry has requested the committee to inquire into, investigate, and report on the wholesale and retail distribution of motor spirits and ancillary products with the object of maximising the economic development of the distribution industry and the service to the consumer and to make such recommendations thereon as it thinks fit.

  2. The committee will shortly be calling for written submissions to be presented at a public hearing at a time and place to be advertised. Any person intending to make submissions or tender evidence is invited to notify the undersigned by Monday, 24 June 1974. A copy of the committee's terms of reference will be forwarded to persons giving such notice.
