Notice of Intention to Take Land for State Housing Purposes in Block XII, Linkwater Survey District, Borough of Picton and Marlborough County

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto, together with the water, sewage, and electricity rights over the part Lot 1 shown coloured blue on plan 3082 created by transfer No. 45477, for State housing purposes, such land to be used for housing purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Picton and is there open for inspection; that all persons directly affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any objection to the taking of the said land, not being an objection to the amount or payment of compensation, make a written objection and send it within 40 days after the first publication of this notice, to the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board at Wellington; and that if any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing.

SCHEDULE

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing approximately 65 acres 1 rood 34.7 perches situated in Block XII, Linkwater Survey District, Borough of Picton and Marlborough County and being part Section 8, Waitohi Registration District and being part of the land shown on D.P. 607, part certificate of title No. 2A/504, Marlborough Land Registry; as shown on plan M.O.W. 27767 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works and Development at Wellington and thereon edged red.

The land concerned lies on the southeast side of Waikawa Road and is situated approximately 120 metres north-eastward of the intersection of Leicester Street and the said Waikawa Road and has a frontage of approximately 440 metres to the said Waikawa Road. The land also has a frontage to the end of Milton Terrace.

PURSUANT to section 25 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works and Development hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be set apart for agricultural purposes (research area) from and after the 4th day of April 1974.
