Pest Destruction District Orders

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1974.

  1. The boundaries of the West Otago Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 11th day of July 1956*), the Pyramid Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 13th day of March 1972†), and the Eastern Southland Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 6th day of October 1969‡), are hereby declared united to form one district to be called the Mount Wendon Pest Destruction District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The basis on which the Board for the said District shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF MOUNT WENDON PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT THE boundaries of the Mount Wendon Pest Destruction District shall be that area of land contained in the following districts:

THE HON. H. WaIT PRESIDING IN COUNCIL PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited at the Union of Bannockburn, Cardrona, Cromwell, Forks and Wanaka Pest Destruction Districts Order 1974.

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1974.

The boundaries of the Bannockburn Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 29th day of June 1955*), the Cardrona Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 20th day of July 1949†), the Cromwell Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of November 1949‡), the Forks Pests Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day of September 1949§) and the Wanaka Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 23rd day of February 1949||), are hereby declared united to form one district to be called the Upper Clutha Pest Destruction District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

The boundaries of the Ashley Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 1st day of March 1950*), the Kowai Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order in Council on the 6th day of October 1943†), and the Waimakariri Pest Destruction District (which was constituted by Order of Council on the 21st day of September 1960‡), are hereby declared united to form one district to be called the Ashley Pest Destruction District, the boundaries of which shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

  2. The basis on which the Board for the said District shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF ASHLEY PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Ashley, Eyre, Oxford, and Rangiora Counties, Boroughs of Kaiapoi and Rangiora, containing 274,060 hectares (677,240 acres), more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the mean high-water mark of the sea in the middle of the Waimakariri River and proceeding north-westerly generally up the middle of that river to a point due west of Trig. Station S (Black Hill) in Block IX, Upper Ashley Survey District; thence due east to that Trig. Station; thence north-easterly generally along the summit of the Puketeraki Range to Ashley Head in Block XII, Esk Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to Trig. Station L (Block Hill) in Block X, Okuku Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the source of the south branch of the Waipara River in Block XI, Okuku Survey District; thence south-easterly generally down the middle of that branch and the Waipara River to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence south-westerly along that mean high-water mark to the point of commencement.
