State Forest Land Set Apart as State Forest Park

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to section 63A (1) (a) of the Forests Act 1949, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby set apart the State forest land described in the Schedule hereto as State forest park and shall hereby form the Haurangi State Forest Park.

FIRST SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT—WELLINGTON CONSERVANCY—FEATHERSTON COUNTY

FIRSTLY, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 6772 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 111, Wharekaka District, in Block 111, Haurangi S.D., and proceeding generally easterly along the left bank of the Patakanui Stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 27959, and to and along that boundary and the south-western boundary of the said Lot 3 to the north-western corner of Section 6, Block IV, Haurangi S.D.; thence generally southerly along the western and southern boundaries of the said Section 6 to and along the end of a road and the south-eastern and south-western sides of the said road to the left bank of Dry River; thence north-easterly along that bank to the north-eastern side of the road, aforesaid; thence generally south-easterly along a right line to and along the generally western and southern boundaries of Section 6, aforesaid, and the generally western boundaries of Section 7, Block VIII, Haurangi S.D., to the reserve along the left bank of Blue Rock Stream, along a right line to and along the generally western boundaries of Section 7, aforesaid, and along the end of a road to the northern boundary of Section 8, Block VIII, Haurangi S.D.; thence westerly and generally south-westerly along the northern and north-western boundaries of the said Section 8, the north-western boundary of Section 9, Block XII, Haurangi S.D., and the north-western and south-western boundaries of Section 3, Block XVI, Haurangi S.D., to the right bank of the west branch of the Turanganui River; thence southerly and westerly along that bank and the right bank of the Turanganui River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block XV, Haurangi S.D.; thence generally northerly to and along the eastern boundaries of the said Section 2, Section 1, Block X, Haurangi S.D., and Section 2, Block XI, Haurangi S.D., the generally eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 18086, and Sections 39 and 38, Turanganui District (Plan B/286), the south-eastern, south-western, and again south-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 7958, the south-eastern boundary of Section 91, Turanganui District (D.P. 11010), the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Section 46, Wharekaka District (D.P. 11010), the south-eastern boundary of Lot 3, D.P. 27959, and the generally south-eastern boundaries of Section 111, Wharekaka District, to the point of commencement.

Secondly, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 8365 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 5710, in Block XIV, Haurangi S.D., and proceeding easterly along the southern boundaries of Lots 1 and 3, D.P. 5710, to the western side of a road; thence southerly along that side and the end of the said road, and northerly along the eastern side of the said road, to the southern boundary of Waitetuna 1A2; thence easterly along that boundary and the southern and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 15017, and the south-eastern boundary of Waitetuna 1A6 to the westernmost corner of Section 1, Block XVI, Haurangi S.D.; thence southerly along the western boundaries of the said Section 1 and Section 25, Block IV, Kaiwaka S.D. (including a right line at the end of the road at Castle River), to the south-western corner of the said Section 25, and along the end of the road at Poley Stream to and along the western boundary of Section 26, Block VIII, Kaiwaka S.D., to the left bank of the Whawanui River, along a right line due south to and along the right bank of the said river to the western boundary of Section 12, Block VIII, Kaiwaka S.D., along the western boundaries of Sections 12, 13, and 14, Block VIII, Kaiwaka S.D., and the north-western and generally western boundaries of Section 28, Block XI, Kaiwaka S.D. (including a right line at the end of a road), to the southernmost corner of the said Section 28; thence south-westerly along the north-western side of a road to the left bank of the Mataopera Stream; thence north-westerly along that bank to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Kaiwaka S.D., and south-westerly to and along that boundary to the left bank of the Waitetuna Stream; thence generally northerly along the generally south-western and western boundaries of Waitetuna Block, the north-western boundaries of Waitetuna 1B, the western, southern, and south-western boundaries of Waitetuna 1A1, the southern and generally western boundaries of Waitetuna 1A7, and the generally western boundaries of Waitetuna 1A3E and 1A3D to the point of commencement.

Thirdly, all that area in the Wellington Land District containing 11 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section 29, Block XI, Kaiwaka S.D., and proceeding south-easterly along the south-western boundary of the said Section 29 to a point 20.12 metres from the mean high-water mark of the sea;
