(2) Any co-opted member shall hold office for the term stated at the time of co-option, but may be reappointed.
(3) If any member dies or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Board or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
(4) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed member of the Board shall continue in office until his successor comes into office.
(5) The powers of the Board shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.
4. (1) A deputy member may be appointed in the same manner as an appointed member, to be the deputy of that member and act in the event of the absence of that member from any meeting of the Board.
(2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (1) of this clause he shall be deemed to be a full member of the Board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient evidence of his authority to do so.

New Zealand Journalists Training Board Notice 1974

PURSUANT to section 15A of the Vocational Training Council Act 1968, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the New Zealand Journalists Training Board Notice 1974.
  2. There shall be an industrial training board for the journalism industry which shall be known as the New Zealand Journalists Training Board and shall comprise the following members:
    (a) Three members appointed by the New Zealand section of the Commonwealth Press Union;
    (b) Two members appointed by the New Zealand Journalists Association;
    (c) One member appointed by the Auckland Journalists Union;
    (d) One member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Vocational Training Council;
    (e) One member appointed by the Director-General of Education.
  3. (1) Subject to the provisions of this section the members of the Board shall hold office for a period of 3 years, but may from time to time be reappointed.
    (2) If any member dies or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Board or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the Board for three consecutive meetings, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.

Declaring Land in the Nelson Land District to be Crown Land Subject to the Land Act 1948

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, the Minister of Mines hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.

SCHEDULE

NELSON LAND DISTRICT-BULLER COUNTY

ALL that area of Crown land situated at Marshallvale in Block VI, Kawatiri Survey District, as located on S.O. Plan 10575 and being formerly Residence Site Licence Number 12027.

All certificate of title, Volume 1D, folio 356, limited as to parcels: area, 1011 square metres, more or less.

Surrendering Coal Mining Rights Held by the Crown in Nelson Land District

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, the Minister of Mines hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

THE coal mining rights held by Her Majesty the Queen under Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925, as described in the Schedule hereto, are surrendered with effect from the date of this notice.

SCHEDULE

COAL prospecting licence number 14147, of the Warden's Court of the former Karamea Mining District, relating to 59 acres 2 roods 1.4 perches of land in Block X, Kawatiri Survey District.
Coal mining lease number 11002, of the Warden's Court of the former Karamea Mining District, relating to 40 acres 1 rood 03 perches of land in Block X, Kawatiri Survey District.
Coal mining lease number 11001, of the Warden's Court of the former Karamea Mining District, only insofar as it relates to 26 acres 2 roods 26 perches of land in Block X, Kawatiri Survey District, being further described as follows: bounded by a line commencing at Peg V44, the south-west corner of coal mining lease number 11001, and proceeding on a bearing of 07° 47' 48" for 1900.0 links along the western boundary of the said lease, thence on a bearing of 56° 45' 00" for 1500.0 links, thence on a bearing of 90° 00' 00" for 1176.7 links to the eastern boundary of the said lease, thence on a bearing of 224° 49' 50" for 3813.9 links along the said eastern boundary to the point of commencement.
Coal mining lease number 6692, of the Warden's Court of the former Karamea Mining District, only insofar as it relates to 131 acres 1 rood 26 perches of land in Block X, Kawatiri Survey District, being further described as follows: bounded by a line commencing at Peg V44, the south-west corner of coal mining lease number 6692, and proceeding on a bearing of 44° 49' 50" for 3813.9 links along the western boundary of the said lease, thence on a bearing of 108° 40' 40" for 3868.4 links, thence on a bearing of 168° 00' 00" for 2000.0 links to the southern boundary of the said lease, thence on a bearing of 274° 08' 30" for 6787.2 links along the southern boundary of the said lease to the point of commencement.
